EastEnders viewers spot huge blunder during showdown in Christmas episode

Fans think there must be some soundproofing in Walford houses

If you’re a fan of the soaps, you’ll know that there has been some juicy drama in last night's episode of EastEnders.

It’s no surprise that the Christmas Day TV schedule is always packed with shocking twists at every turn, and it’s something that families all over the UK huddle together to watch after stuffing their bellies full of yummy foods.

Last night was no exception as Albert Square was turned upside down after a crazy murder twist shocked fans who watched with open mouths as it all unfolded in the Queen Vic.

Let’s be honest though, murders always happen at the Vic, so that wasn’t the surprising part.

What people all over were left reeling by, however, was that a six-month long plot line in Eastenders ended with an unlikely victim as fan favourite Keanu Taylor was stabbed in the back (literally) by Linda Carter.

But it was one scene in the Christmas special which left viewers baffled.

After waiting so long to find out who was murdered in the Vic and who was the assailant, fans were stuck on one vital scene.

It was when Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) publicly announced her love for Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) before their planned escape from Walford and husband, Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) lost the plot.

EastEnders' Christmas special hit viewers with a shock twist.

As Nish was adamant that his marriage wasn’t going to end, Suki was forced to have Christmas dinner with her family and stay far away from her estranged hubby.

But it was Ravi, the couple’s son who shocked viewers with his welcomed redemption arc after he aided in his mother’s escape with her lover.

This ultimate family feud took place in the Panesar kitchen, where Ravi battled it out with Nish to keep him away from Suki while the rest of the family were in the next room enjoying their Christmas dinner.

This is what fans couldn’t believe.

One person wrote on X, formerly Twitter: “So what the rest of the family are just eating dinner whilst Ravi and Nish are tearing it up in the kitchen??”

Another responded: “Homes clearly soundproofed. Though seriously, I had been in that kind of situation and we were just too scared to get involved."

And a third wrote: "Still thinking about how Priya, Avani, Vinny and Nugget were stuffing their faces whilst Nish and Ravi were killing each other in the kitchen”.

Nish was the red herring all along for the eventual demise of Keanu.

But that’s about when the comedy ended as shortly after, Suki ran into Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) while on the hunt for Eve and the pair ran into the pub.

As Nish escaped from Ravi and found her hiding, the ultimate fight began and Nish tried to force Suki home while Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth), Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), Denise Fox (Diane Parish), Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) and Stacey tried to pull him away.

Thankfully, Denise came to the rescue and knocked him out with a bottle to the head, which was the flashforward scene in February 2023, showing that Nish was wearing the same cufflinks as the eventual victim, Keanu.

EastEnders never disappoints on Christmas, that’s for sure.
