Celebrity Big Brother viewers are all saying the same thing about Gary Goldsmith after he entered the house.

Gary, 58, told hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best that he wanted to 'put the record straight', saying people assume he's a 'badboy'.

When asked if his famous niece would be watching from home, he replied: "If she is, it'll be from behind a sofa."

As he gave his intro interview, many viewers found themselves thinking along the same lines.

One savagely tweeted: "Literally who the f**k is this? This is really stretching the definition of celebrity."

Someone else said: "I'm a royalist and I've never heard of Gary Goldsmith. Like who even is he!!!! #CBBUK."

A third wrote: "Who is Gary Goldsmith #CBBUK."

A fourth fumed: "Right then…. Does anyone wanna tell me who Gary Goldsmith is? #CBBUK."

Gary is the uncle of none other than Kate Middleton, being the brother of her mum Carole.

He made an appearance at his niece’s wedding to Prince William back in 2011, joined by then-wife Luan and their daughter Talullah.

Viewers aren't the only ones scratching their heads about Gary, who came under fire from Katie Price after his name was rumoured to be making an appearance in the rebooted series of Celebrity Big Brother.

Former winner Katie, who is of course no stranger to reality TV, responded to news of the lineup in a recent episode of her podcast, The Katie Price Show, revealing there’s one name in particular that she’s not best pleased about.

Katie, 45, discussed the forthcoming new series with her sister Sophie, who said: "Kate Middleton's uncle [is doing it]."

Responding to the news that Gary would be featuring, she fumed: "Why the f**k's he in it? Who is he?"

Katie won the show in 2015 when it was on Channel 5, having beaten The Apprentice’s controversial commentator Katie Hopkins to the coveted top spot.

She and her sibling went on to chat about another rumoured contestant, Real Housewives of Cheshire star Lauren Simon.

"There's someone from the Real Housewives of Cheshire," sister Sophie said, before Katie added angrily: "Right. Anyone can be a celebrity these days."
