Katie Price takes brutal swipe at Kate Middleton's uncle's reported appearance in new Celebrity Big Brother

Katie Price has taken a brutal swipe at Kate Middleton’s uncle amid rumours he’s set to appear in the new series of Celebrity Big Brother.

The iconic reality show is making its star-studded comeback on Monday on its new home on ITV, with fans eager to see who’s heading into the house.

Of course, ITV won’t be confirming any names until they walk through those iconic doors, but that’s not stopped tongues from wagging – especially after a report from The Sun earlier this week outlined the full lineup we can expect to see, including the likes of Sharon Osbourne, Nikita Kuzmin, David Potts, Bradley Riches, Zeze Millz, Marisha Wallace, Colson Smith, Fern Britton, Louis Walsh, Lauren Simon, Gary Goldsmith, Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Levi Roots.

Former winner Katie Price, who is of course no stranger to reality TV, has responded to the rumoured lineup in a new episode of her podcast, The Katie Price Show, revealing there’s one name in particular that she’s not best pleased about.

Price, 45, discussed the forthcoming new series with her sister Sophie, who said: "Kate Middleton's uncle [is doing it]."

The royal’s uncle is 58-year-old businessman Gary Goldsmith, the brother of Middleton’s mum Carole.

He made an appearance at his niece’s wedding to Prince William back in 2011, joined by then-wife Luan and their daughter Talullah.

Responding to the news that Goldsmith is set to feature in Celebrity Big Brother for its long-awaited reboot, Price fumed: "Why the f**k's he in it? Who is he?"

Price won the show in 2015 when it was on Channel 5, having beaten The Apprentice’s controversial commentator Katie Hopkins to the coveted top spot.

She and her sibling went on to chat about another rumoured contestant, Real Housewives of Cheshire star Lauren Simon.

"There's someone from the Real Housewives of Cheshire," sister Sophie said, before Price added angrily: "Right. Anyone can be a celebrity these days."

But according to insiders, the casting team for Celebrity Big Brother supposedly selected Goldsmith not just for his royal ties, but also because he won’t be holding back.

A source told The Sun: “The CBB team love him because of his link to Kate and the fact that he’s confident and loud and won’t hold back.

"He’s made it clear he will talk about everything and anything, and he’s pretty outspoken when it comes to Harry and Meghan.

“Gary also holds a deep affection for Kate and Wills and will be able to give a fascinating insight into what it’s really like being related to the future King and Queen."

A Celebrity Big Brother spokesperson told Tyla: "Any names are at this point pure speculation and viewers will have to tune to see who will be entering the Celebrity Big Brother house."
