Fans of Bradley Walsh's Breaking Dad have been left gutted after learning that the show won't be returning to our screens next year.

The popular travel series, which has been going for five years, follows Bradley, 63, and his 25-year-old son Barney, as they gallivant across the globe, embracing the cultures of the countries they visit and taking on new challenges.

The latest series saw the father and son duo set off on a journey across Latin America, a 3,000-mile journey with pit-stops in Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama.

There, thrill-seeking traveler Barney has a load of high-adrenaline activities lined up for his unsuspecting and arguably less adventurous father, including climbing up a 700ft rockface, sledging down a volcano and learning to fly a helicopter.

Unfortunately for fans of the show, a new series of Breaking Dad isn't set to be released anytime soon.

The series has seen the pair take on high-adrenaline challenges as they travel around the world.

Both Brad and Barney are booked and busy for the foreseeable future — they will be presenting the Gladiators reboot together next year.

With a source revealing that it can take 'five to six weeks on the road' to film a season of Breaking Dad, there simply isn't the time to film alongside the pair's other commitments right now.

Responding to the news, one person wrote on Facebook: "Aww gutted, I loved watching them."

Another commented: "Loved it, one of the best programmes , they have such a brilliant relationship."

Fans are gutted that the show wont be returning to our TV screens in 2024.

However, all hope is not lost for fans of the Walshes, as earlier this year, Barney and Bradley revealed that they had no plans of stopping the series.

Barney confessed to his dad that he feels so lucky to be able to travel with him and that the memories they've made together over the past five years are his favourite thing about the show.

“We are so blessed to be able to go around the world and do this,” he said.

Bradley agreed: 'It's just a lovely thing to do, it's just amazing."

It has also been confirmed that a sixth series will go ahead, but is unlikely to be released until 2025.

A source told The Sun: “They’re thrilled to be back together for a sixth series of Breaking Dad, where they genuinely have as much fun as it looks on screen.”

They claimed the new season will be its 'wildest' yet.

The source added: “Filming is expected to kick off later this year when Bradley and Barney can commit time to being away from the UK together. With transmission most likely in 2025.”
