Ben Affleck really committed to the bit in Gone Girl and yes, that meant baring it all on the big screen.
The actor confirmed he filmed a brief nude scene without any prosthetics in the 2014 thriller Gone Girl.
His comments about the scene resurfaced and piqued everyone’s attention this week after cheeky comments made by his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, previously addressed the moment during a 2014 TV interview, came to light again. She joked the filmmakers would require a wide lens.
The former couple were still together at this time, as they tied the knot in 2005 and parted ways in 2018.

In the years since Gone Girl debuted on the big screen, it has been a fan favourite and one of Affleck’s most discussed movie roles ever. And not just for that reason.

The feature film adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s successful 2012 novel sees Affleck play Nick Dunne, whose wife Amy (Rosamund Pike) goes missing under peculiar circumstances on the morning of their fifth wedding anniversary.
Nick becomes a prime suspect and faces intense public scrutiny, while flashbacks in Amy’s diary reveal that their marriage was crumbling under infidelity and financial strain.
But all is not what it seems and viewers are taken on a wild ride as they discover the hidden truth about Amy’s disappearance. We won’t spill any spoilers!
What we can talk about is Affleck’s now-infamous nude scene and he spoke about it frankly in 2014, just before the film came out.
“The penis is in there!” he told MTV. “It costs extra - it’s IMAX penis. You’ve gotta pay fifteen bucks to see it in 3D - it looks better in 3D.”

He quipped: “You should know it was a very cold set.”
Further explaining why he was happy to let it all hang out, Affleck shared: “I don’t know, I try to get it in every movie! [Director David Fincher] said to me from the beginning, ‘this is a warts-and-all movie. You can’t have any vanity. You have to see the naked underbelly of this character.’
“It’s got to be, like, in Europe they just don’t give a shit about any of that stuff, and they just play real people, you know? And so that was the spirit of the thing, and we kinda stuck to that.”
You’re probably wondering where you can watch Gone Girl right now? Because obviously the plot sounds gripping and intense and you’re desperate to know what happens, right. It is available to stream in the UK on Disney+ and on Netflix in other select regions.
