Below Deck star Margot Sisson has thanked co-stars after crew member fired due to sexual misconduct

The reality TV star has spoken out about her experiences

A star of the reality show Below Deck Down Under has spoken out about two cast members were fired following an incident of sexual misconduct.

Margot Sisson has expressed gratitude to the show for their swift action after she was targeted.

One of the cast members who was sacked for inappropriate behaviour was Luke Jones, who was seen sneaking into Sisson's bed without her consent.

Another steward on board the boat, Laura Bileskalne, also received the sack for inappropriate remarks.

On her Instagram, Sisson expressed gratitude to the show's producers and Captain Jason Chambers.

In particular, she expressed her thanks for fellow cast member Aesha Scott.

Scott had stepped in when Jones began making a move on a drunk Sisson.

She'd told the drunken Sisson: "I don't want any drunkenness to be taken advantage of.

"So I'd just like to see you get into bed safely. I'll get you water."

Reflecting on this intervention, Sisson wrote: "The way she recognized the vulnerability of the situation I was in and her courageous intervention on my behalf was both heroic and so admirable.

"I thank the producers who quickly stepped in. Scott, you have a heart of gold, I look up to you, and I will forever be grateful."

She also thanked Captain Jason for 'leaving no room for any BS.'

Sisson also addressed the dismissal of Bileskalne, who had made several inappropriate comments to her.

She wrote: "Had I woken up to a boat full of people who had the same feelings as Laura, I would have continued to think it was my fault, and that I deserved it, and what happened was OK.

"There would have been no consequences, no accountability, and the same thing or worse could have happened again and again to someone else.

"It breaks my heart to know that this has happened to so many of you reading this. Your emotions are valid, nobody is allowed to blame you, and you can't blame yourself.

"Your body is your body, your space is your space, your bed is your bed, and nobody is allowed to enter that bubble without consent."

Below Deck Down Under is aired on Peacock and chronicles the lives of crew members working onboard a 150 foot luxury superyacht.

It follows other iterations of the show which took place in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean.
