Netflix viewers thrilled after second series of ‘mind-blowing’ sci-fi show announced by streaming service

Netflix has been treating viewers to some banging series lately, and this one is no exception.

After fans previously demanded a second season to the show which was released on Netflix UK on 21 March, it seems like the streaming company actually listened.

Many people were so hooked they binged the lot and it’s probably because it features some familiar famous faces from the amazing Game Of Thrones.

It’s no surprise actually because this show was created by GoT runners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss alongside True Blood’s Alexander Woo, and it features hugely addictive sci-fi visuals.

Fans have called 3 Body Problem a '10/10'.
Netflix

The series was so popular with viewers that it amassed over 81,000,000 viewing hours in just one week, so it’s no surprise that Netflix is bringing its second season out.

We are, of course, talking about the hugely popular 3 Body Problem that had fans begging for more, and it’s actually happening!

If you haven't watched it yet, here's the trailer:

The show is loosely based on the novel 'The Three-Body Problem' by Liu Cixin, and it follows the fallout of a woman’s fateful decision during the cultural revolution of 1960’s China and the issues it continues to cause in the present day.

Netflix says of the series: “When the laws of nature inexplicably unravel, a tight-knit group of brilliant scientists must join forces with an unflinching detective and a mysterious intelligence agency to save the world."

It boasts an amazing cast, including Eiza González as Auggie, Marlo Kelly as Tatiana and Benedict Wong as Da Shi.

It's important to mention that although we’re all calling it Season 2, Netflix actually referred to it as an ‘extension’, and that it’s just getting more episodes added to it. The release date of said extension is yet to be annouced.

I don't know about you but it sounds like a second season to me.

Anyway, fans are thrilled about it and took to social media to profess their love for the imaginative series.

One user wrote: “3 body problem series on Netflix is a 10/10.”

Another said: “@netflix 3 Body Problem is an amazing show! Great cast, novel and mind blowing plot. I commend you and the team that brought this to life.”

Someone else wrote: “Damn 3 body problem is gripping.”

A fourth chimed: “Finished watching 3 Body Problem! Honestly one of the greatest shows I've ever watched, incredible high concept sci fi elements and a surprising amount of depth given to their characters got me lovin' this series.

“Very excited to see if the sequel, Dark Forest, comes up soon.”

If you’ve not watched it, listen to the fans and take a peek today!

Stream it now on Netflix.
