Many of us may be taking refuge in our homes with a heatwave on the horizon set to take over the UK later this week.

Now, while a whole bunch of armchair critics may be glued to their screens watching Bridgerton, Love Island and, of course, the Euros - some of us may be after something with a little more grit.

Well, look no further than this one Netflix doc which has since been dubbed 'one of the most incredible human stories of all time' leaving twins around the world totally speechless.

Based on a fascinating real-life story, the docu-film follows the likes of Jorge and Carlos - a pair of brothers who believed for their whole lives they were non-identical twins.

However, as the story unfolds, they soon found their actual twin brothers online.

They made the bombshell discovery that, back in the 1980s, a careless mistake in a Colombian maternity ward changed the lives of two sets of twins when they were switched at birth.

The doc explores how the mixed-up brothers ended up finding one another in a truly incredible turn of events.

The accidental scientific experiment, which seems like something right out of a work of fiction, showed how both sets of brothers experienced extremely different outcomes in life due to their environment, family and other various extraneous factors.

The film is none other than The Accidental Twins and you can check out the official trailer here:

Fans have since rushed to social media after watching the docu-film with one X user writing: "Watched The Accidental Twins on Netflix and what a rollercoaster of emotions."

A second urged: "If you need something cool to watch I just found this on Netflix and one of the best things I’ve watched in a very long time! The Accidental Twins - in bogota Columbia in Dec of 1988, TWO sets of twins were born a day apart & switched at birth!!"

"Accidental Twins on @netflix. I can't even begin to imagine facing that reality!!!!!" a third piped up.

A fourth echoed: "This Accidental Twins story is absolutely mind blowing!" And a final X user praised: "This is quite possibly one of the most incredible human stories of all time, and it's currently being told on Netflix.

"The Accidental Twins is well worth a watch."

Well, I know what I'll be watching this week.
