Netflix has proven time and time again that it's the place to go whenever you're after your latest crime thriller fix.

From Richard Gadd's harrowing Baby Reindeer to the chilling '10/10' true crime series, The Asunta Case, it's clear we have a whole stockpile of viewing material in the genre.

And it's clear there's one more 'underrated' must-watch crime flick on the streaming platform which viewers are hailing as the 'best film they’ve ever seen'.

The film in question first hit our screens back in 2017 and boasts a star-studded cast including the likes of Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Jon Bernthal and Lake Bell.

The plot follows the transformation of a well-to-do family man and once-successful businessman, Jacob Harlon (played by Coster-Waldau), who becomes a hardened prison gangster.

Jacob has to undergo the major transformation in order to survive California's penal system after he is incarcerated for his role in a deadly DUI car accident.

After being recently released from prison, Jacob finds himself forced by his leaders to 'orchestrate a brazen crime' with a rival gang or risk his family.

If you couldn't have guessed it already, the film is none other than Shot Caller.
