Warning: This article contains discussion of domestic violence which some readers may find distressing.

Viewers are positively foaming at the mouths to finish work today and get home to binge Netflix's latest chilling docuseries.

A spin off of the smash-hit Worst Roommate Ever, which as the name suggests, delves into true crime cases of trusting, unsuspecting people who ended up cohabiting with evil people, often to murderous consequences.

The spin off, Worst Ex Ever, marches to the beat of a similar drum.

Exploring the stories of four people who fell in love with the wrong person, it promises to be a nail-biting true crime documentary that will lead you to consider thinking twice before swiping right.

Having landed today (28 August) on the streaming platform, viewers cannot wait to binge it.

If you'd like to know a little bit more about the series before settling down in front of the TV this evening, read on.

Worst Ex Ever tells the stories of the unluckiest in love in a range of ways, including survivors’ testimonies, body cam footage and re-enactments.

The first episode centres on a serial abuser called Benjamin Foster - as a range of women come forward to tell their stories about him.

As per the docuseries, Benjamin's abuse lasted for longer than a decade and left one of his victims with life-changing injuries.

The stories of Benjamin's exes, Amber, Jaimee and Justine are all retold during Worst Ex Ever, detailing the prolonged and traumatic abuse they suffered while romantically involved with him.

Justine, who was held captive and repeatedly abused by Benjamin, has been left with a traumatic brain injury.

She tells the camera: "Torture is an understatement for what I went through."

Netflix's synopsis of the series is as follows: "The new format – built around the universal feeling of wondering how much you really know about your partner – brings you more shocking tales of betrayal, violence, and deceit.

“Composed of compelling testimonials, bodycam footage, and animated reenactments, Worst Ex Ever reveals the disturbing stories of monstrous past relationships.”

True crime fans can't wait to watch the show - and people that have managed to watch it already are singing its praises.

A third added: "Worst Ex Ever is out now on Netflix so I guess I will not be finishing any work for the next 4 hours?"

While a fourth chimed: "So Netflix has a series called Worst Ex Ever coming out like they had Worst Roommate Ever. I can’t wait to tune in and hear them stories lol."
