Zara Larsson hits out at Trump administration for using her song in a 'vile' video

Zara Larsson has branded Donald Trump's team 'losers' after the White House used one of her songs in a video featuring footage of ICE arrests.

The official White House TikTok account shared the clip on Thursday (17 Sept), using Larsson's 2026 summertime hit 'Midnight Sun' as the soundtrack to footage of Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arresting people.

The controversial clip was captioned, 'Never ending deportations...', along with a stream of star emojis.

After fans tagged Larsson, 28, in the clip, the Swedish singer shared an emotional response in a TikTok of her own, admitting she was 'sad' and that her 'heart is heavy' after seeing her song used in the footage.

"Because I wish I could speak to whoever made that video," she continued. "I wish I could talk to you, and I wish I could help you remember that you and I, we aren’t that different.

"And we’re not that different from the people in the video, either."

Larsson went on: "The biggest difference between us is that we were dealt a different hand in life.

"I consider myself so lucky with the life that I’ve been dealt- the fact that I’m born in Sweden, I’ve had an education, and I’ve had all these opportunities just sort of, like, laid out in front of me. I get to travel and do all these amazing things. That’s luck.

"There are people out there who are not that lucky, and they want to have a better life for their families. I just don’t understand how it could be the worst thing in the world to be an undocumented immigrant..."

The chart-topper went on to slam the video as 'dehumanising', adding: "These people in the video are real people - there’s a f*****g guy in there with construction wear, like, he’s working.

"These people who are undocumented are regular people with jobs, and they’re just trying to have a better future."

Larsson went on: "It’s so crazy how everything is so meme-ified, especially 'Midnight Sun', which is about feeling connected to nature, the universe, and people, and this just creates this massive divide between people.

"It’s so f*****g uncool. You guys are such f*****g losers."

Fans of the singer agreed with one slamming Trump's video as 'vile' on X.

Another recommended: "She should SUEEEEE."

The audio has since been removed from the White House's upload.

Larsson's comments come as a number of musicians have publicly objected to their music being used in social media posts connected to the Trump administration's immigration enforcement agenda.

The singer has previously spoken out against ICE, and her music has been used in White House content before.

Her 2016 anthem 'Lush Life' was previously featured in another video relating to ICE, prompting Larsson to publicly express her opposition to the agency.

The musician joins a growing list of pop stars who've also criticised the Trump administration over the use of their music in ICE-related content.

Sabrina Carpenter previously objected after her song Juno was used in an ICE video, calling the post 'evil and disgusting' and telling the White House not to involve her or her music with what she described as an 'inhumane agenda'.

Ariana Grande also criticised the administration after her song bye was used in an ICE video, asking that her music not be used 'in relation to this barbaric, inhumane, heinous nonsense'.
