It looks like Snoop Dogg is making an effort to educate himself after his comments slamming LGBTQ+ representation in film caused backlash last month.
For those who need a reminder, the 53-year-old American rapper issued a rant about a lesbian relationship being depicted on screen when he took his grandson to watch Lightyear back in 2022.
The movie is an animated science-fiction action-adventure film from Pixar, which acts as a spin-off to the beloved Toy Story franchise.
It sees Buzz Lightyear, who was voiced by Chris Evans, trying to make his way back home, and the film ends happily with a montage showing the character's lives, including his best friend Alisha Hawthorne (voiced by Uzo Aduba).

In the clip, Alisha falls in love, gets married and welcomes a child with a female member of the space crew named Kiko, with the animated pair of toys sharing a kiss at their son's graduation ceremony.

Appearing on the It's Giving podcast earlier this year, Snoop controversially said the movie left his grandchild with questions he couldn’t answer.
He said: "They're like, 'She had a baby, with another woman;. Well, my grandson, in the middle of the movie is like, 'Papa Snoop? How she have a baby with a woman? She’s a woman!'"

The rapper continued: "Oh s***, I didn’t come in for this s**t. I just came to watch the goddamn movie. They just said, 'She and she had a baby, they’re both women. How does she have a baby?'
"It f****d me up. I’m like, scared to go to the movies. Y’all throwing me in the middle of s**t that I don’t have an answer for."
He continued: "It threw me for a loop. I’m like, 'What part of the movie was this?' These are kids. We have to show that at this age? They’re going to ask questions. I don’t have the answer."
Understandably, the comments were met with widespread criticism and Snoop apologised in the comments section of an Hollywood Unlocked Instagram post.

He wrote: "I was just caught off guard and had no answer for my grandsons. All my gay friends [know] what’s up they been calling me with love."
"My bad for not knowing the answers for a 6 yr old … teach me how to learn I’m not perfect."

And now, it seems that he's been doing just that and has partnered with GLAA (Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation), the world’s largest LGBTQ+ media advocacy organisation to collaborate on a new song called 'Love is Love', which is featured in a new episode of Snoop’s animated children’s YouTube series 'Doggyland'.

Speaking of the collaboration, Snoop said: "At the end of the day, it’s all about love — that’s what we’re teachin’ the kids with ‘Love Is Love.’ Partnering with GLAAD for Spirit Day just felt right, because spreading love and respect for everybody is what real gangstas do."
He added: "We’re showin’ the next generation that kindness is cool, inclusion is powerful, and love always wins.”
And in a further video shared to his YouTube channel this week, Snoop elaborated on why the single is so important.
He said: "It’s a beautiful thing that kids can have parents of all walks [of life], and be able to be shown love, and be able to be taught what love is."

He added that 'hate is taught and so is love,' adding that 'whether it’s two fathers, two mothers, whatever it is, love is the key'.
Snoop said: "I think these kids are being loved by these great parents [who] are showing them an example of what family is. So, I wanna give a shoutout to all of the parents out there for doing such a great job with these kids."
