After landing himself in hot water for comments made about LGBTQ+ representation in a Disney movie, Snoop Dogg has issued a statement.
Appearing on the It's Giving podcast recently, he recalled taking his grandson to watch Lightyear back in 2022 - a science-fiction, action-adventure spin-off from the Toy Story franchise.
The family-friendly film sees Buzz Lightyear (voiced by Chris Evans) attempting to make his way back home, which ends with a montage including his best friend Alisha Hawthorne (Uzo Abuda).
In the clip, Alisha falls in love, marries and welcomes a child with a female member of the space crew named Kiko, with the pair of toys sharing a kiss at their son's graduation.

Claiming the scene left him 'scared to go to the movies', rapper Snoop told podcast hosts last week he'd been inundated with questions from his grandsons about same-sex relationships.

"They're like, 'She had a baby, with another woman,'" the 54-year-old began. "Well, my grandson, in the middle of the movie is like, 'Papa Snoop? How she have a baby with a woman? She’s a woman!'"
Snoop went on to claim: "Oh s***, I didn’t come in for this s**t. I just came to watch the goddamn movie. They just said, 'She and she had a baby, they’re both women. How does she have a baby?'

"It f****d me up. I’m like, scared to go to the movies. Y’all throwing me in the middle of s**t that I don’t have an answer for."
He continued: "It threw me for a loop. I’m like, 'What part of the movie was this?' These are kids. We have to show that at this age? They’re going to ask questions. I don’t have the answer."
Unsurprisingly, Snoop's comments went on to spark mass backlash, with one social media user hitting out last week: "What a terrible take on the lesbian couple. It’s 2025 & y’all still being homophobic?"

"Does he not know what adoption is?" another questioned.
As we say, the musician has since responded to the mass criticism, admitting he spoke incorrectly whilst under pressure.
"I was just caught off guard and had no answer for my grandsons," Snoop penned in the comments section of an Hollywood Unlocked Instagram post. "All my gay friends [know] what’s up they been calling me with love."
Issuing an apology, he went on to write: "My bad for not knowing the answers for a 6 yr old … teach me how to learn I’m not perfect."

Captain America star Chris Evans - who voices the titular character of the Disney hit - previously branded individuals who take issue with the inclusion of a same-sex couple 'idiots'.
Speaking to Reuters, the 44-year-old hit out: "Every time there’s been social advancement as we wake up, the American story, the human story is one of constant social awakening and growth and that’s what makes us good."

"There’s always going to be people who are afraid and unaware and trying to hold on to what was before."

He added: "But those people die off like dinosaurs. I think the goal is to pay them no mind, march forward and embrace the growth that makes us human."
Tyla previously contacted Snoop Dogg's representatives for a comment.
