Despite having bagged roles in countless movies and a plethora of television shows - many of which are littered with sensual scenes - you'll never see American actress Zendaya in the nude.

In fact, the former child star reportedly has a 'no nudity' clause in her professional contract, which abstains her from ever having to strip down for a silver-screen character.

As we say, despite now being 28, Zendaya - full name Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman - had her first 'big break' as a youngster.

The star was just 14 when she was cast as CeCe Jones in Disney Channel's dance-comedy hit Shake It Up, and in the years that followed - as well as releasing several teen pop music singles - she bagged a number of further Disney productions.

By 2018, however, the California queen had become somewhat of a household name.

Not only did she appear alongside the likes of Hugh Jackman and Zac Efron in circus musical The Greatest Showman, but she went on to land a long-standing role in the latest Spiderman film series, where she met now-boyfriend Tom Holland.

This was also around that time that Zendaya began starring in more adult-friendly roles, including HBO drama series Euphoria, where she played troubled, drug-addicted teen, Rue Bennett

Despite the TV role - which landed her an Emmy award - seeing the star getting up to all sorts of mischief, fans have recently noticed she's one of the only stars of the series never to have gone nude for a scene.

And when her 2024 tennis hit Challengers - in which she forms part of a steamy love triangle with two of her male competitors - hit cinemas, the trailer seemed to hint at some form of on-screen intimacy between her and co-stars Josh O'Connor and Mike Faist.

Naturally, therefore, viewers were left baffled when even the most x-rated of scenes seems to end before any of the characters actually whip their kit off.

It turns out, however, that there are rumours going around Hollywood that there's a reason we never see Zendaya in the buff because of a very specific clause in her contract

Though the star has never explicitly confirmed the speculation, some fans have theories on why she may have included such a speculation when drawing up her acting agreement.

And by the sounds of things, many believe it is likely due to her background as a child star.

According to Evie Magazine, some fans harbour the impression that actors that have gone from childhood into adulthood in the spotlight attempt to steer clear of nudity to prevent young stars from being preyed upon, or encouraged to take on mature roles immediately upon becoming an adult.

As Fandom Wire pointed out, however, the supposed clause may also have something to do with her Marvel role in the Spiderman trilogy, being that the franchise are notoriously selective on who they hire for their movies.

It may well be that MCU bosses have requested the clause in order to prevent any scandal.

Until Zendaya herself lifts the lid, however, we'll never really know why.

Tyla contacted Zendaya's representatives for comment.
