Beyoncé's hugely anticipated NFL halftime show broadcast by Netflix on Christmas Day was a hit for many - but others had some criticisms.

In what was a Christmas present for fans, Queen Bey took to the stage at the Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans game on 25 December, dressed in a bejewelled white bodysuit and a statement cowboy hat which sat upon her voluminous blonde curls, as she performed a medley of hits from her recent album, 'Cowboy Carter'.

The 43-year-old hitmaker also welcomed a number of special guests to the stage, including Post Malone and Shaboozey.

But it was her 12-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, who left the best impression, pulling off seamless choreography at the NRG Stadium in Houston.

While many flooded social media with praise, some people weren't all that impressed - including some comments about her performing a 'banned gesture' on stage - and her mum, Tina Knowles, has since weighed in on the criticism.

She shared a statement somebody else had made on social media to her Instagram page, which read: "Irrespective of if you like Beyonce's music or not, it is PROOF and motivation that no matter how undeniably talented you are, people will always, ALWAYS, always have some negative ish to say.

"Watching Beyonce made me not care what anyone thinks of me anymore.

"The amount of hatred, and trolling this woman can receive for a FLAWLESS FREAKING PERFORMANCE is unreal to me. Moral of the story is do you. If Beyonce ain't worried about the haters, you shouldn't be worried either. Go be great."

Tina captioned the post: "Repost : My sentiments exactly!

"It is mind-boggling to me that you would take your precious Christmas day and watch a performance of someone you hate and you don’t think has talent so that you can go talk ish about it later."

She continued: "Obviously you are so obsessed with them , addicted to them , and secretly admire them , wish you could be them, that you cannot help but to watch and critique and comment and say dumb ridiculous stuff that makes you look like a joke !!

"So go to another channel when it’s halftime watch goofy cartoons or Bozo the clown or something you can relate to and see yourself in. Said with love."

Ms. Knowles rounded off the statement with: "PS I have learned so much from her warrior spirit, of when they go low I work harder “No weapon formed against me shall prosper” one ,two , three waiting for the fake bots to come”."

A few others shared Tina's sentiments, as singer Chrisette Michele commented: "I LOVE how you support your baby girl. I remember you meeting my mom and having the same warrior spirit. You’re an inspiration."

Meanwhile, drag superstar, Shea Coulee, said: "“Go watch Goofy or Bozo, something you can relate to” took me out!!!! You better remind them of what they are Ms Tina… CLOWNS."
