TikTok star Kimberly Nix, 31, announces own death in devastating final post

She opened up about her 'very beautiful life'

Beloved TikTok star Dr. Kimberly Nix has announced her own death in a devastating final post.

The 31-year-old doctor, who was diagnosed with terminal sarcoma, took to TikTok to share with her 148k followers the confirmation of her passing.

Kimberly, who went by the handle @cancerpatientmd online, first shot to fame on the social media platform a few years back in 2021.

She was 28 at the time and was in the final three years of her internal medicine core residency.

After being diagnosed with metastatic sarcoma, she decided to start documenting her cancer journey online.

Kimberly went on to rack up over 3.1 million likes across her TikTok videos and create a supportive community of people online who shared their advice, experiences and support.

However, on Wednesday (8 May), Kimberly uploaded her final-ever post which has since been viewed more than 6.2 million times.

In the video, she began: "Hello followers, if you’re seeing this message I have passed away peacefully.

"For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Kim, hi! It’s so nice to meet you and you’re welcome to check out all the cool sarcoma facts, information and my lived experience with death and dying with sarcoma cancer.

"You don’t have to go just because you’re new."

She continued, assuring viewers that she had a 'very beautiful life' adding: "Those who know me, know I love my pets, my husband, and makeup."

Kimberly continued: "And though being a doctor is a big part of my identity, those are the things that matter.

"So get ready with me one last time."

In the video, Kimberly went through a list off all of the things she was lucky enough to have ticked off her 'bucket list', carrying on: "I got to get engaged, get married, I went to New York City, and it was like Gossip Girl.

"I was dining at Michelin star restaurants, which was so cool. I also went to Broadway, which was a dream of mine."

Alongside that, the doctor shared that she was also able to enjoy experiences in the 'mountains, San Francisco, and a winery'.

Kimberly, who married her husband, Michael MacIsaac, a few months back in February, called him her 'most beautiful love' and began to cry as she opened up about their relationship.

"My only sadness about dying is that we won’t get to grow old together," she continued. "Everything else, is totally bearable. That is the only thing that really matters."

Kimberly also took the time to give thanks to all her followers for giving her the chance to 'find so much purpose' following her diagnosis.

"I love you all," she finished up, "thank you so much for this amazing opportunity. I’m in happy tears because you’ve all made me find so much purpose in the end of my life."

Kimberly captioned the video with a heartfelt thank you to her followers who supported her throughout her cancer journey, writing: "My journey here is over and I cant thank each and every one of you enough! You have all made me so happy and your comments and support are more than enough to have gotten anyone through anything!"
