A security expert has theorised that, when it comes to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s rumoured New York wedding, all may not be as it seems.
Ever since the Kansas City Chiefs star popped the question last summer, fans of the celebrity couple have been dying to know the details - especially where and when the bash would take place.
Now, unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll have no doubt seen the heavy rumours that Tay and Trav will be tying the knot in New York City’s Madison Square Garden on the weekend of 4th July.
While this hasn’t been confirmed, murmurs have made their way around social media, after the the New York Times reported that permits had been requested for a large event at MSG in early July, which will shut down the area.

However, security pro Will Geddes isn’t quite as convinced.
Speaking exclusively to Tyla, the expert, who has over 30 years of experience in the Specialist Security sector, has admitted that the information leaks could very well be ‘misdirection’.

Yep, you read that right - theories are now starting to emerge that the whole thing could simply be an elaborate ruse to throw people off track.
Swifties will know that Taylor’s team isn’t exactly the type to let information just be spilled to the press, fuelling the conspiracy that the wedding will be taking place somewhere else entirely.
Geddes explained: “It’s a really interesting one because there are two locations being touted. It's either Madison Square Garden or a place in Rhode Island. Now, the one thing that we have to bear in mind is Taylor Swift’s security are pretty good.”
He theorised: “Let's say they're very good about preparing information and releasing information, from within their confines.
“Obviously, one of the risks is third parties that become aware of this stuff. So, for this information to come out, we can't necessarily take it as confirmed, and it won't be. Because, you know, it could very well be misdirection.”

The expert continued: “So even with them putting in permit requests to close off many of the streets around Madison Square Gardens, and there being some whispers and talks about what potentially could be going on, the thing we've got to watch out for is the fact that they may be doing that purposely to distract people in a different direction to where they may genuinely have their wedding.
He guessed: “Now, there are rumours, and I've seen this with other celebrities, where they'll have a small wedding, maybe it's small intimate wedding, with just their nearest and dearest, and then have a big, big reception, big party somewhere.
“So there's a possibility that they may get married elsewhere, but then use Madison Square Gardens for their reception.”
Geddes also pointed out that in his experience, it’s not an uncommon move to make, and there are ‘quite a few celebrities who’ve done that in the past’.
It’s a clever tactic that can even be used to weed out moles involved in the the organisation of the wedding.
He said: “They'll say, oh, yes, everything's going to happen here, and you start making plans and telling catering companies that's the location.
“And one of the reasons why they can do that sometimes is to try to early detect any leaks within some of the function organising, so whether it be the caterers, the flower providers, the entertainment, it could be anything.
“|So, again, it's one of the ways that you can feed that information. This is what I would do, and I have done, which is where I will feed information into very third parties or contractors to see whether they're going to keep that information secure.”

And it looks like Geddes isn’t the only one with this wild theory, as fans of Taylor and Travis have seemingly had similar thoughts in recent days, branding the singer as a ‘mastermind’.
One X user penned: “We know way too much about Taylor Swift’s wedding at Madison Square Garden for me to believe Taylor Swift is having a wedding at Madison Square Garden, but I’ve been wrong before.”
While a second added: “I'm not sure I believe a word of it, and I hope it's the clowning of the century bc that would be hilarious.”
And a third agreed: “She is a MASTERMIND and I think it’s all a red herring that she is chuckling at, or it’s an event that isn’t the real wedding. I went from skepticism to I think we are in the palm of her hand.”
I guess we’ll have to wait and see, as all all may be revealed this weekend…
