Arguably, the fandoms behind both Taylor Swift and Stranger Things are some of the biggest out there.
And, unsurprisingly, there's sometimes a fair bit of overlap between the two when it comes to the actual fans themselves, with many Swifties also being part of the diehard 'Strangers' online community.
But there may be some tension now that Taylor has just got dethroned in the Spotify charts by a Stranger Things star.
It has been a big week indeed for the likes of Joe Keery - AKA the 33-year-old actor who stars as Steve Harrington in the hit Netflix series, which just saw its very last episode hit screens last week (31 December).

Now, Taylor practically broke the internet following the release of The Life of a Showgirl back in October, leading her to sit at the top of the Spotify charts after 78 consecutive days with her track 'The Fate of Ophelia'.
But Keery's put an end to the streak now that his song, titled 'End of Beginning' bumped her for the top spot.

The hit tune was actually released four years ago in 2022 as part of the actor's Decide album.
But, with the finale episode of Stranger Things along with end of 2025, it's no wonder why ' 'End of Beginning', along with all its deeply reflective lyrics, is seeing a major renaissance.
Along with his thriving career on-screen, Keery's actually been in the music scene for over a decade now.
From 2015 to 2018, he was a drummer, guitarist, and vocalist for a Chicago-based garage and psych-rock band called Post Animal, but he eventually left when the band started to get more attention from fans of the sci-fi show.
A year after his departure, in 2019, Keery started releasing music as a solo artist under the name Djo and has since put out three albums: Twenty Twenty, Decide and The Crux.

And apparently Taylor digs the track as Keery recalled on The Spout Podcast in 2024, recalling the moment he met her at a recording studio and she told him she liked it.
"I just happened to be there the day that she was there. And she’s really nice. I mean, I’ve met her a couple of times," he said.
"Before anything happened with this track, she said, 'Hey, I really love that track of yours, 'End Of Beginning'. She just said that she had heard the song and, you know, obviously I’m like, 'What? You heard that song? How the hell did you hear that song?'"
