There’s a surprising connection between Taylor Swift and one of the teams heading to the Super Bowl this year (and we’re not talking about Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs).

Kelce and Swift were first linked in July 2023 when he was spotted attending the global superstar's Eras Tour.

By the time July came around, Kelce admitted he took it 'personally' that he didn't get to meet Swift, which led to many saying he was 'shooting his shot.'

Fans celebrated when Swift attended one of Kelce's games in September, with the duo finally going public with their romance in October after being photographed holding hands.

In the following months, Kelce attended Swift’s Eras Tour and the Delicate singer was seen supporting her boyfriend at his football games. She’s expected to attend the Super Bowl this Sunday as the Kansas City Chiefs aim to win a third consecutive championship. The team is going up against the Philadelphia Eagles.

In the days leading up to Super Bowl LIX, some football fans have gone to great extremes to throw jabs at the opposing team. A post on social media. made by sports writer Dov Kleiman, has gone viral after claiming Eagles fans 'made shirts to give out cursing out Swift for the Super Bowl'.

The shirt in question has the words 'F**K TAYLOR SWIFT' plastered across it with the Eagles mascot covering up the 'U', 'Y' and 'W' in a diagonal line.

"There's no place for this in sports," Kleiman added.

Naturally, after catching wind of the post, Swifties rushed in to share their outrage with one Twitter user writing: "Wow Eagles fan, classy."

"I mean what does this even mean? Why does this make sense or help your game/team?" questioned a second.

A third chimed in: "Seriously. People can really be garbage."

"Very unnecessary & immature," branded a fourth, while a fifth echoed: "This is so unnecessary."

"You guys get so worked up about nothing," another said, while a final Twitter user declared: "On behalf of all Eagles fans, we’re sorry, this isn’t cool."

It’s unclear where the merch originated from.

Some Swifties also pointed out the irony of Eagles fans making digs at Swift’s expense. She’s a Pennsylvania native, the same state that is home to the Philadelphia Eagles making them her home team. Before taking over the world, she was born in West Reading, Pennsylvania, and spent her early years on a Christmas tree farm in Cumru Township, in the same state.

“So fragile they have to make merch about a pop star instead of just supporting their team.. newsflash Taylor and her family were lifelong eagles supporters FAFO,” one fan replied.

“Tayvoodoo about to hit like a MF,” someone else wrote.

A third Swiftie tweeted: “Little do they know the eagles are Taylor original team. either way, Taylor always wins.”
