As British Vogue editor-in-chief Edward Enninful prepares to bid adieu to the high-fashion magazine after just shy of seven years, a special edition has been released to commemorate his time at the publication.

The cover features a staggering photograph of '40 legendary women', who were photographed together in the Big Apple for Vogue's March 2024 issue.

Sharing an preview of the incredible image - which includes some of the biggest names across the fashion, film and music industries - the magazine's official Instagram account described Enninful's departure as the 'end of an era'.

"After six and a half years and 153 cover stars – including the 40 legendary women who were photographed together in New York for our March 2024 issue – behold @Edward_Enninful’s 76th and final edition of @BritishVogue," the statement read.

"Bonded by magnificence, purpose and a previous appearance on the cover, a sisterhood of megastars gathered for a once-in-a-lifetime photoshoot.

"When the initial idea for the cover was ignited, there was only one question: would 40 of the most booked and blessed women on earth actually make it to one studio in Manhattan, on one day in December, to take one image together?"

The knockout photo sees the 40 women posing together - either dressed in black or white - in celebration of the magazine's colossal achievements.

Amongst those to have been selected are Bridgerton actress Simone Ashley, fashion designer Victoria Beckham, supermodel Cindy Crawford, talk-show host Oprah Winfrey and singer Dua Lipa.

The cover also featured movie stars Gemma Chan, Jodie Comer, Laverne Cox, Selma Blair, Arianna Debose, Cynthia Erivo, Salma Hayek and Jane Fonda, as well as sports champion Serena Williams, Love Island host Maya Jama, singer Miley Cyrus and model Cara Delevingne.

There is a certain group of A-list stars, however, that some eagle-eyed viewers have noticed are pointedly absent from the star-studded cover.

Despite being some of the most sought after celebrities across the world, not one member of the Kardashian-Jenner family - Kim, Kourtney, Khloe, Kylie or Kendall, nor their 'momager' Kris Jenner - features in the special edition.

Their absence certainly didn't go under the radar with viewers - but many commenters seemed to be happy with the decision.

Another penned: "Not kardashian and Jenner! Bliss"

"I’m so happy there’s not one Kardashian in this photo," a third admitted, whilst a fourth went on, "No Jenners and Kardashians! HALLELUJAH!".

"My fav part: not a Kardashian/Jenner in sight," another penned.

And a final said: "And not one Kardashian, thank you."
