Sienna Miller has admitted to regretting allowing her 14-year-old daughter Marlowe to walk the red carpet after their joint appearance went viral earlier this month.

A few weeks back (16 September), the 44-year-old British actress and Marlowe, whom she shares with her ex Tom Sturridge, attended the London premiere of her new series, War.

It didn't take long for people online to rave over the mother-daughter duo, with Miller now sharing that the overwhelming response has led to her decision to keep her teen daughter away from the spotlight for now.

"Honestly, she came with her friend, my mum was there, and for five seconds at the end she kind of came and gave me a hug," Miller explained on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle on Thursday (24 September).

"I don’t think any one of us anticipated what would happen."

Miller, who also shares two children with her fiancé Oli Green, continued: "I felt, I think, like it was not a great thing for her at this point in her life.

"She’s so young, and she is so beautiful, but she’s much more, interestingly, incredibly clever and kind and funny. I just think whether the attention is positive or negative, being aware of that level of attention at that age is not good."

The mum-of-three joked: "She wants to be locked up now."

Miller's remarks echo what she also recently shared on SiriusXM’s The Julia Cunningham Show.

"I think I somewhat regret it because I didn’t expect, and I don’t think she expected, that that would have the response that it got," Miller explained. "And I think I’m going to be sending her away to a nunnery for the next four years till she can emerge as an actual adult."

After catching wind of the A-lister's admission, fans have rushed to social media to shower Miller in praise.

"I love a parent saying how her daughter looks is the least interesting thing about her," gushed one Instagram user.

A second chimed in: "Go mum for saying her beauty is the least interesting thing about her!"
