On Sunday actress Selma Blair was arrested at New York’s JFK Airport after a report of a ‘physically abusive passenger’, officials say.
She is understood to have been arrested shortly after 11pm local time, after Port Authority of New York and New Jersey officials say they received a call detailing “a physically abusive passenger aboard Delta Air Lines flight 938 which was parked at the gate” after the flight in question arrived from Los Angeles, reports The Guardian.
The Port Authority said on Monday 54-year-old Blair, “was taken into custody and transported to the hospital for evaluation.
“Two flight attendants also reported injuries, and one was transported to the hospital for further evaluation.”

The Port Authority also stated the FBI, which investigates incidents of this sort, has become involved in the case.

A Delta Airline spokesperson said there is a “zero tolerance for unruly or unlawful behavior, as the safety of our customers and crew always comes first”.
TMZ reported that Blair punched attendants, tried to bite one and also attempted to open an aircraft door – however officials have not stated or confirmed these reports.
Tyla has reached out to Blair’s representatives for comment.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, her publicists said, “Selma experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct. Upon landing, she received immediate medical attention and is [now] in stable condition.”
The incident on Sunday is not the first time Blair has involved in mid-flight episodes.
In 2016, during a flight from Cancun, Mexico to Los Angeles, the then 43-year-old was reported to have cried and shouted and was later taken from the aircraft in a stretcher.
Blair issued an apology at the time, explaining: “I made a big mistake yesterday.
“After a lovely trip with my son and his dad, I mixed alcohol with medication, and that caused me to black out and led me to say and do things that I deeply regret,” Blair added.
She continued: “My son was with his dad asleep with his headphones on, so there is that saving grace.

“I take this very seriously, and I apologize to all of the passengers and crew that I disturbed and am thankful to all of the people who helped me in the aftermath.
“I am a flawed human being who makes mistakes and am filled with shame over this incident. I am truly very sorry.”
Blair has appeared in multiple hit movies, including Hellboy, Cruel Intentions, and Legally Blonde.
In 2011, she was nominated for the best spoken world album for children at the Grammy Awards for her part in Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl – The Definitive Edition.
