Selena, 32, first opened up on her parenting plans earlier this year, revealing she'd previously formed a general idea of what she wanted to achieve before her 35th birthday - one aspect of which, was becoming a mother.

Speaking to press at a Time 100 Most Influential Companies event back in May, the TV star - who is currently dating musician Benny Blanco - said: "I came up with my plan, which was I was going to adopt at 35 if I had not met anyone."

And speaking to Vanity Fair this week, Selena made an emotional admission about her fertility woes, revealing that ongoing health issues mean she's unlikely to ever be able to carry children.

"I haven’t ever said this, but I unfortunately can’t carry my own children.

"I have a lot of medical issues that would put my life and the baby’s in jeopardy," she explained. "That was something I had to grieve for a while."

Following her health admission, fans of the Only Murders In The Building actor have swarmed around the star, offering her well wishes.

Taking to social media, one penned: "She’s so strong oh my god she’s actually been through so much."

"Sending love and positivity to her," a second added.

A third continued: "Oh that’s so sad. "

"You are a strong human being to come forward and talk about the difficulties in your life," another gushed.

"I am sure universe is planning something much better for you."

The actress - who was diagnosed with lupus sometime between 2012 and early 2014, and underwent a kidney transplant in 2017 - added that, though the devastating news was initially hard to swallow, she's open to all options.

"It’s not necessarily the way I envisioned it," she speaks of one day raising a child.

"I thought it would happen the way it happens for everyone. [But] I’m in a much better place with that.

"I find it a blessing that there are wonderful people willing to do surrogacy or adoption, which are both huge possibilities for me.

"It made me really thankful for the other outlets for people who are dying to be moms. I’m one of those people. I’m excited for what that journey will look like, but it’ll look a little different."

She courageously added: "At the end of the day, I don’t care. It’ll be mine. It’ll be my baby."
