Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez have finally said 'I do', but rather than hosting an extravagant celebrity wedding surrounded by hundreds of A-list guests, the couple chose somewhere much closer to home.
The Portuguese football superstar and his model wife tied the knot in a private civil ceremony in Cascais, Portugal, on 11 August, exactly 10 years after they first met and one year after announcing their engagement.
Their five children were present for the intimate occasion, which, incidentally, took place in the living room of their home.
After the ceremony, the pair drove to the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima, where they were offered a blessing by a priest.

The newlyweds later shared a glimpse of their wedding on Instagram, posting a photo of their hands showing off their wedding bands alongside the caption, 'C [heart] G'.

And while front-room nuptials might sound rather different from the big-name soiree you might have expected from one of the world's most famous - and richest - couples, there was actually a very sweet reason behind their decision.
Speaking to Vogue ahead of their wedding, Georgina, 32, explained that the couple wanted their ceremony to be about their family and the life they have built together, rather than hundreds of guests.
"We've chosen to do it in the living room of our house here, where we have breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and where we live the reality of our lives," the mother-of-five explained.
Rodríguez also claimed she and her sportsman beau wanted the spot to have a special meaning for their children in years to come.

"In 30 years’ time I want the children to think, Something wonderful happened at this table, the wedding vows of our parents," she continued. "Honestly, we love the sentiment."
The brunette beauty went on to confess: "When I was a little girl, I dreamt of the biggest castle, the biggest carriage, the longest dress, a crown full of diamonds, and now I’m saying: no.
"I want something intimate, with my partner and our children, at home."
She explained: "Because castles, houses, islands, horses, cars: We have all of that within reach every day. But something intimate - that’s more unusual for us."
Rodríguez did admit, however, that she and Ronaldo are considering the possibility of a larger celebration later down the line.

"In the future we will have a big wedding, so we can celebrate with family and friends," she continued, citing a 'crazy year' of 'work commitments' for both she and her husband.
For the latter, this included the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where 41-year-old Ronaldo represented Portugal.
Reflecting once again on her big day, Rodríguez claimed: "It was exactly as I’d imagined it. Intimate, full of love, and with our family in the most important starring role. I couldn’t hold back the tears."
She added: "I needed nothing more - my husband, my children, our home, our faith, and our love."
As we say, the couple's low-key wedding comes almost exactly a decade after their relationship first began.

Ronaldo and Rodríguez first met in August 2016, when the ex-Manchester United attacker visited the Gucci store in Madrid where Georgina was working as a sales assistant.
By the following May, they'd gone Instagram official, with Ronaldo - who already father to Cristiano Jr and twins Eva and Mateo - sharing a photo of the two together.
Later that year, they welcomed their first child together, daughter Alana Martina, and in 2022, twins Bella Esmeralda and Ángel, entered their lives. Sadly, however, Ángel died during childbirth.
In August 2025, Georgina announced that Ronaldo had popped the all-important, sharing a photo of her enormous engagement ring which went viral at the time, captioned: "Sí, quiero. En esta y en todas mis vidas."

(For reference, this means, 'Yes, I do. In this and in all my lives', in Spanish'."
Then, one year to the day later, they became husband and wife.
