Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez’s marriage announcement sparks same reaction as ‘sweet’ detail spotted
Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez are officially married and fans have noticed an adorable detail from their latest relationship update.
The couple started dating in 2017 and almost a decade later, they have officially tied the knot in a civil ceremony on 11 August, 2026.
The Portuguese football icon, 41, and influencer, 32, wed in a ‘private and intimate moment’ attended by their five children.
Ronaldo posted a picture of the couple’s hands with their wedding bands, along with the caption: “C❤️G”.

Fans have noticed that the wedding took place exactly one year after the couple got engaged.
Rodríguez announced their engagement in an Instagram post on 11 August, 2025. It went viral partly due to her huge engagement ring.
And flocking to social media following the shock announcement, one user wrote: "That diamond is so f***ing big wtf" while a second added "the gasp I gasped".
"That ring is f***ing huge but so beautiful omg," agreed a third shocked follower.
In her post announcing the engagement last year, Georgina wrote: “Sí, quiero. En esta y en todas mis vidas,” which translates to, “Yes, I do. In this and in all my lives.”
Fans were delighted seeing news of the wedding exactly a year after their engagement. “It usually does take about a year to a wedding since engagement. How sweet!” one fan on X wrote.
“Congrats I wish them nothing but the best,” another fan wrote.
“Well planned,” another fan gushed.
The couple share daughters Alana, seven, and two-year-old Bella, who was born in April 2022, alongside a baby boy who was tragically stillborn.
The sports star is also dad to three other children, whom Georgina has helped to raise throughout their relationship.
Ronaldo first met his future wife in 2016, when she was working as a sales assistant at a Gucci store. The couple made their red carpet debut at the Best FIFA Football Awards in Zurich that in 2017, and by May, they had made their relationship Instagram official when Ronaldo shared a photo of the two together.
In their 2022 Netflix reality series, I Am Georgina, Ronaldo opened up about the early days of their romance. The athlete said he thought she was a 'very interesting girl, so much more mature for her age,' but admitted he didn’t expect the romance to last.
Looking back, Ronaldo said he never expected their relationship to become so serious: “didn’t think at the beginning that [the relationship] would be this strong, that I would fall in love with her. I didn’t expect it, honestly. But after a while, I felt that she was the woman of my life.”
