Reese Witherspoon has just shared a brand-new photo with her daughter, but people are divided over one detail.
Over the weekend (21 December), the 49-year-old Legally Blonde actress shared a snap of her and her 26-year-old daughter, Ava, to her 30.3 million followers on Instagram with the festive photodump's caption reading: "Making Merry."
Witherspoon shares Ava and her 22-year-old son, Deacon, with her ex-husband, Cruel Intentions star Ryan Phillippe, 51.
Fans were quick to clock, once again, the uncanny resemblance between the mother-daughter duo, with many rushing to social media to share their reactions.

"Ryan Phillippe’s genes didn’t even bother," joked one X user, while a second quipped: "It's her clone!"
A third chimed in: "Her daughter looks more like her than herself!"
"Genetics are something else, they should do a Legally Blonde film together!" buzzed a fourth while a fifth echoed: "Bro did the guy even help make her!"

Others, however, highlighted that there are also several major similarities between Ava and her father - almost as if that's exactly how genetics works!
"Looks more like her dad," wrote one fan while a second chirped: "50/50."
"Actually, there is a lot of him," pointed out a third.

A fourth agreed: "Oddly, she also looks just like him!"
"If you look, you'll see that the girl has Ryan Phillippe's eyes," noted another.
And a final X user commented: "Yes, I see a lot of him. I actually think she looks like both of them lol."
Witherspoon and Phillipe parted ways in 2008 after getting married young in 1999.

Phillippe also shares a son named Kai, who was born in 2011, with his ex Alexis Knapp, with the pair co-parenting together.
Witherspoon also has a son named Tennessee James, who was born in 2012 with her ex-husband, talent agent Jim Toth, with whom she was married from 2011 to 2023.
The Hollywood A-lister previously opened up about it being difficult trying to parent three children who are all at totally different stages of life.

"You establish a different relationship," she explained. "First of all, you're managing them a lot when they're little, and it's very physical. And then it's more emotional support. And suggestions, not telling them what to do when they get a little bit older.
"But you have to really nurture your adult relationship with your children, too. And give them respect and space to become who they are, not who you want them to be."
