Baywatch actress Priyanka Chopra has opened up about the terrifying reason why she and her husband, Nick Jonas, have decided to raise their daughter away from the spotlight.
Chopra, who tied the knot with the Jonas Brothers star back in 2018, appeared on Tuesday's episode (10 March) of the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, where she discussed her parenting choices when it comes to her four-year-old, Malti Marie.
The 43-year-old Miss World 2000 winner explained that she and Jonas, 33, are keen to 'deflect' attention away from their toddler in order to help her 'have as much anonymity as she can'.
"It is her normal, and people will be curious about her, and I never want her to be fearful of that or judgy or sceptical of the humans that she meets because there are good people in the world, and I've had wonderful experiences with friends like that," Chopra shared.
"It's okay for her to be aware of it, but to have a sense of choice, I think, will be important."

"When we have security out and about, it's just ... to not be recorded without consent because a lot of that happens," she said, adding that her daughter was once followed home from school by a person recording her.
Acknowledging that both she and her hubby are very much so in the public eye, the mum-of-one highlighted that Malti Marie, who the couple welcomed via surrogate in 2022, didn't sign up for that and wants her to be able to make the decision herself in the future.
The Hollywood A-lister continued: "I've always been of the opinion that I kind of chose a public life. I'm pragmatic enough to be like that's the nature of the beast. If you're gonna live a public life, people will be interested and curious.
"[When] it comes to children, that's ... terrain we are all learning in the last like 10 to 20 years what that is gonna be like in the next 10 years, 15 years for them."
She carried on: "So I think a little bit of grace is required for everyone, but also certain awareness of safety and what that means."
Chopra and Jonas welcomed Malti Marie via surrogate back in 2022 (Instagram/@priyankachopra) Chopra concluded by appreciating that public curiosity about her daughter is 'great' as she loves to talk about her.
However, she prioritises Malti's protection above all else.
"I love talking about Malti. She's an amazing, smart, precocious, [and] fun kid," she gushed before stating the similarities between herself and her character in the new action-adventure flick she stars in, The Bluff.
"I mean, for me, this movie, like it was all about that, like the feeling of, 'What are you capable of? What will you do to protect your child? How far will you go,' and I feel that."
