Pete Davidson fans have admitted how much ‘healthier’ the comedian appears amid his confession on what launched him onto his sober journey.
On Tuesday (September 23), the 31-year-old appeared on Theo Von's This Past Weekend podcast.
The Saturday Night Live icon, who has been sober for more than a year now, said that quitting his various vices had helped him 'gain clarity and the stability' to start a family with girlfriend Elsie Hewitt, 29.
“Thank God that I’m sober and where I am,” the Staten Island native said.

“I don’t think anybody’s ever like ‘I’m ready.’ I wouldn’t know. But I wish I had more time of sobriety … but I’m very grateful that it happened now and with Elsie.”
After admitting that he used to be a ‘drug addict’, Davidson revealed the moment he knew he had to become a sober person.
He claimed that when he was at a rehabilitation centre, he was reading stories about himself in the news.

“It sucks where there’s like four things in the article but there’s more of them you’re like ‘actually yeah that’s kid of true’. But you know, I’m in rehab alone reading this.
“A lot of my friends - I would say I still have half of them - [for] a lot of them it got to a point with my use and how I was behaving where they were just like ‘I love you, but this is too much.”
The father-to-be claimed that when he first started losing friends because of his addictions, it was mainly people whom he didn’t give a ‘sh**t about’.
However, he finally realised his actions were the problem when it was people he ‘really cared about’.

“You can only go it's everybody else for so long… until you're like, ‘Okay, I get it’,” he added.
Davidson also admitted anybody who ‘actually loved [him] or cared about [him] had gotten the worst wrath from [him]’ in the past.
Fans who watched the podcast interview have all said how much brighter the American comedian appears, with one Reddit user typing: “He looks healthy! I’m wishing the best for him. For some reason, I have a soft spot for Pete.”

Another commented: “I really hope he can continue his sober journey. It’s not easy for anyone when you have mental health challenges separate from addiction. His kid deserves a present and healthy dad.”
“Gosh, his colour, the awful dark circles under his eyes, everything, just looks better. Good for him,” someone else penned.
A fourth reported: “He looks amazing here! Good for him.”

The Dirt actor also used Von’s podcast to defend fellow creative Pedro Pascal.
The 50-year-old has been in more than a handful of movies over the last nine months.
These include The Uninvited, Freaky Tales, Materialists with Dakota Johnson and Chris Evans, Fantastic Four: First Steps as Reed Richards and Eddington.
According to IMDB, he also has six more projects in the works, including two more Marvel movies, The Mandalorian, and possibly Todd Haynes’ De Noche, and Tony Gilroy’s Behemoth!
Speaking about Pascal’s abundance of screen time, Davidson said: “Look at Pedro Pascal right now. He’s worked so hard, he’s been a struggling actor, blows up so f**king hard, everyone’s like ‘daddy!’
"And then a year later he’s like in everything now because he’s big and everyone’s like ‘go the f**k away dude!"
He continued: "It’s like, what the f**k dude? You’ve got to give someone time to adjust to that new level of fame.
"He's been banging at it for thirty years now. He's learning how to go get a cup of coffee or deal with someone who taps you on the shoulder while you have your earbuds in and freaks you out.
"You've gotta give that guy a f***ing second to adjust, do you know what I mean?"
Davidson added: "It’s like we build everybody up and now it’s so fast to turn [on them]. Bro it's like within months, where you're like, what the f**k happened?”
