Being the daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, North West was pretty much born into the spotlight.
But, in a new interview with Dazed for the magazine’s September issue, the 13-year-old revealed her surprisingly humble career plans - and it’s not what you’d expect.
North has already released a debut six-track, called N0rth4evr, which was released on 1 May 2026, and recently performed her first-ever solo festival set at Lyrical Lemonade's Summer Smash in Bridgeview, Illinois, in June.
However, despite making waves in the music world, she still wants to have a ‘regular job,’ specifically at Starbucks.

During her new cover star interview, she was asked: If you weren’t an artist, what do you think you would be? I know you wanted to be a basketball player at one point. Is that still on the cards?”
North clarified: “No, it’s not. What would I be? I still wanna work. I wanna work at, like, Starbucks next year."

She added: “I think I can next year ’cause I’m gonna be 14, so… I think I can. I want to have a regular job, I guess.”
Praising the teen, fans wrote on X: “You know what, I give her props on that. No 13- 14-year-old kid thinking about working” and “It's good experience to have.”
While a third reasoned: “Honestly pretty cool that despite having everything, she genuinely craves a taste of normal everyday life.”
A fourth joked: “She do a full 8 hr shift and might reconsider - but it’d be an experience!”
And a fifth added: “Wait till she gets a regular job she’ll go right back to that famous lifestyle,” with a laughing emoji.
“This is honestly real tbh. She’s just a kid i hope the best for her,” penned a sixth.

In the same interview, the star also hit back at those who say she’s too young to have started a career in the industry.
She explained that the ‘worst piece of advice’ she’s ever been given was to ‘start my career later’.
The teen said: “It’s like, nah, this is my hobby, this is what I like to do, this is what I wanna do with my life.”
She also spoke about how piercings have become her ‘signature,’ explaining: “They just make you your full self. I really want to get my bridge pierced, but I’m not allowed.”
North has debuted dermal piercings on her fingers, knuckles, wrists, and thighs, although it’s unknown exactly which of them are real and which are fake.
It’s believed that while the rest of her piercings are stick-ons, the dermal ones on her fingers are reportedly real.

Touching on her unique sense of style, she added: “I’d wear anything. A few weeks ago, I’d be like, ‘Oh hell no!’ But now, after today, I’d wear anything for real.
“I like to try new things. But I do like to have my own style. It’s just easy.”
Kim previously said on her sister Khloé’s Khloé in Wonderland podcast that she encourages North to ‘express herself’.
The mother-of-four explained: "I think that the one misconception that people might have is like, 'Oh, she’s trying to be her bestie and lets her get away with a lot’.
“Like no, Northie actually has a lot of rules. The one area is I do let her express herself."
