The results are finally in after two hotly-debated drugs - Mounjaro and Wegovy - were pitted against one another in a new scientific weight loss assessment.
Both medications have hit headlines ceaselessly over the last year or so - particularly when it comes to the entertainment realm - with Wegovy simply being a different brand for the arguably more controversial drug, Ozempic.
Despite traditionally being prescribed to tackle the effects of type 2 diabetes, recent times have seen the drugs used by huge-name stars in a bid to shed a few pounds.

The weekly injectables are purposed to mimic the GLP-1 hormone, and create signals that make the brain believe a person is full.
Whilst Wegovy also contain semaglutide - an ingredient used to control blood sugar by means of suppressing a person's appetite - Moujaro contains a slightly different ingredient, tirzepatide, which has a similar effect.

The latest study
As we say, the first head-to-head trial against both medications was undertaken recently by manufacturers of Mounjaro, with 750 medically obese participants having taken part.

With an average weight of 113kg, the group received treatment for 72 weeks, enduring side effects like nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, and fatigue.
Eventually, it was proven that Mounjaro is more affective than Wegovy in terms of weight loss, with 32 per cent of participants losing a quarter of their body fat, compared to a 16 per cent in the latter group.
Mounjaro patients were also found to have improved blood pressure, blood sugar and cholestrol levels.
It's no wonder, therefore, that so many trimmed down celebrities swear by the medication.

Amongst the countless Hollywood locals that have opened up about administering Mounjaro in recent months is American singer, Meghan Trainor.

The 'All About The Base' singer shared a post of her new look last month, crediting the drug for having boosted her confidence.
Despite admitting to feeling 'disheartened' by the new focus on her physique - and not her music - lately, the hitmaker admitted she's happy to look and feel 'healthier' for the sake of her two young children.
On a recent episode of The Kardashians, TV socialite Scott Disick also discussed taking Mounjaro with Khloé.
"Everybody that’s got a problem with Mounjaro can suck on my d**k," he declared recently.

"By the way, they can see my d**k now because, for a minute, you couldn’t. It was tough living that large!"
Earlier this year, comedian Amy Schumer also admitted to taking the drug, after claiming in 2024 that a stint on Ozempic - or Wegovy - left her 'bedridden'.

In a new self-fronted Instagram video, the funny-woman revealed she had been prescribed the medication alongside estrogen and progesterone for perimenopause, adding: "It’s not covered by insurance unless you have diabetes or severe obesity, which most of the internet thinks I have.

"But I’m having a really good experience with it, and I wanted to keep it real with you about that.
"That’s all I have to say, and I’m not gonna talk any s***, I’m not gonna stir the pot."
