Molly-Mae Hague has addressed criticism she received over the outfit and hairstyle she donned to attend Venezuela Fury’s lavish wedding, claiming she had been ‘severely humbled’ by the backlash.

Earlier this month, the former Love Island favourite elected to head to 16-year-old Venezuela’s nuptials to Noah Price, 19, on the Isle of Man, without her boyfriend, Tommy Fury.

The 27-year-old was not in attendance due to the strict, ‘old school-style’ boxing camp he is currently enrolled in with his father, John Fury, 61, ahead of his bout against British retired strongman Eddie Hall at Manchester's AO Arena (3 June).

Hague, who turned 27 today (27 May), was instead accompanied by her sister Zoe Hague, 30, and her and Tommy’s daughter, Bambi Fury, three, who served as one of her cousin’s 18 bridesmaids.

According to the influencer’s latest YouTube vlog, she originally had a ‘gorgeous’ hairstyle planned, but ended up ‘taking it out’ and slicking her hair back instead.

“You can see my hair bobble [and] my roots,” she said, referring to pictures which have drawn criticism across social media.

“My whole hair is a whole different conversation at the minute. What am I going to do about my hair? I don’t know.

“It’s grown out so much to the point where I’m like, ‘do I just accept that I might just have to [be] a brunette? No, surely not.”

Hague has admitted that she had been ‘severely humbled’ by naysayers who did not like her wedding look.

She explained that while she did ‘put a bit of thought’ into her outfit, she ultimately didn’t ‘care’ what she looked like whilst she was heavily pregnant.

“I did have a bit of a spiral yesterday morning,” she confessed. “I just don’t know why I didn’t think that… I should have thought there’s probably going to be pictures and videos that will come out.”

The reality TV favourite went on to question why it wasn’t considered ‘acceptable to wear black to a wedding’.

“I genuinely never thought that. I saw the comments saying ‘I can’t believe she wore black’.

“I didn’t know you couldn’t wear black to a wedding. I know technically it’s more of a funeral colour but I just think, as long as it’s not white and it’s smart.”

Some fans have defended the star, who apparently took a private plane home from the event.

Replying to one Facebook user who wrote: “Molly looks a sight more like a funeral, [black] roots hair??”, another said: “She’s less than two weeks off having a baby. It’s not advised to dye your hair. People wear black at weddings all the time now.”

Can you dye your hair during pregnancy?

The NHS states that dying your hair in pregnancy is safe once you have passed the 12-week mark.

“Whether you’re in your 2nd or 3rd trimester, pregnancy can affect your hair's normal condition, so it’s worth remembering that your hair may react differently to colouring than it usually does,” the health service warned.

Many mothers-to-be end up opting for highlights during the course of their pregnancy due to chemicals being absorbed by the hair, rather than through the scalp or bloodstream.

If you’re unsure or worried about the potential risks associated with dyeing your hair while pregnant, speak to your midwife or doctor.
