While Meghan Markle’s new Netflix series may not have gone down too well with everyone, it seems like she might be having the last laugh.

Her lifestyle show With Love, Meghan shot into the streamer’s top 10 after landing earlier this month, with many finding it the perfect, sun-dappled comfort watch as they watched her whip up cakes and craft balloon arches with the help of celeb pals.

Some viewers even went on to recreate recipes and hacks from the series, proudly posting their creations on social media.

But, of course, there are always critics, and in this instance they came out in full force – roasting Meghan for her supposedly ‘out of touch’ advice.

Sure, it feels hard not to raise an eyebrow when you’re being told to hit up ‘your local beekeeper’ for wax for homemade candles, but amidst the inevitable ridiculousness that often comes with lifestyle telly are moments of genuine interest.

Before it was released, many had already made their minds up about the show – with podcaster Amanda Hirsch commenting on the trailer: “You guys I’m scared for Meghan.”

You'd have probably assumed that the simple comment, shared 10 weeks ago, would have just been absorbed into the noise of Instagram, but there’s been a surprising update:

Posting a screenshot of her initial comment, Amanda, 33, wrote: “OH MY DUCHESS.”

The next picture in the carousel showed a photo of a handwritten note, signed by Meghan.

“Dear Amanda, I heard you were feeling scared,” the note read.

“Don’t be! This is the fun part - let’s enjoy it."

She signed off: “As ever, Meghan.”

Posting about the unexpected exchange in her Stories, Amanda clarified that her original comment had ultimately been in defence of the star.

“Remember I said I was scared for Meghan’s new show and the possible hate she would get bc for some reason ppl wanna hate on her about everything?” she said, before sharing the note.

She went on: “Like, obviously framing this. Beyond shook. Beyond spiraling. Did I smell the paper? Yes! Do I want my own monogram? Yes. Am I absolutely flabbergasted and obsessed? F**K. YES. @meghan you have a fan for life.”

Amanda added in another post: "So funny bc I have a box of letters but felt like I can’t just put it in that box so I started a new box of extra special letters and this is the first and only in it for now!"
