After Ryan Reynolds issued a response to Martha Stewart saying he’s 'not funny', everyone's been making the exact same point.

Now, Reynolds is hailed as one of Hollywood's biggest stars known for his performances in a countless list of comedy classics including The Proposal, The Hitman’s Bodyguard and Just Friends, just to name a few.

However, it appears as if the actor's on-screen comedic capabilities may not translate in real life - at least according to his neighbour, Martha Stewart.

Stewart, who currently stars in the brand-new Netflix documentary about her life, Martha, opened up about her thoughts on Reynolds after appearing on the Bilt Rewards' November Rent Free game show.

Stewart was asked which fellow celebs she reckoned respondents had named as the most fun to hang out with, saying that the A-lister would probably be on the rundown.

However, she wasn't scared to share how she really felt about him.

"He’s probably on the list just ‘cause he covers himself up in his movies and you don’t see his face - Ryan Reynolds, is he one of those?" she asked.

Spilling the ultimate tea, the 83-year-old TV star then revealed: "And you want to know something?

"He’s not so funny in real life. No, he’s not so funny. He’s very serious."

Ouch.

Stewart later explained her opinions on Reynolds, who shares a home with his wife Blake Lively in Bedford, New York, near her own farm.

"He’s a good actor," she admitted. "He can act funny, but he isn’t funny. Maybe he can get to be funny again."

She added: "I’m going to get in trouble.

"He’s my neighbour."

Following Stewart's remarks, Reynolds decided to take to social media to share his thoughts on the claim and let's just say it didn't go down as well as he may have wanted.

He wrote on X: "I'd disagree with her. But I tried that once.

"The woman is unexpectedly spry.

"She really closed the gap after a mile or so."

The 48-year-old Deadpool star was soon met with an avalanche of responses, with many of them slamming him for being utterly unfunny.

One X user penned: "This only proved her point..."

"Responding with something not funny to a woman saying you’re not funny just proved her point," echoed a second, while a third agreed: "The worst thing a person could ever do is respond with an unfunny comeback to someone saying they aren’t funny. He’s truly unfunny."

Another piped up: "HE JUST PROVED HER RIGHT IM SCREAMING."

And a final X user wondered: "Is this a joke?"
