Some of the more popularly listed examples often include Emily Blunt and Michael Buble, who famously went out for several years before she met hubby John Krasinksi, and Ryan Reynolds, who was actually married to Scarlett Johansson before he wed Blake Lively.
And if you want to get really niche, did you know that The X Factor's own Stacey Solomon previously dated Jackass frontman Steve-O for several years?
Well, anyway. With this in mind, several fans of Emily In Paris have been absolutely blindsided to learn that one of the show's hunkiest actors, Lucien Laviscount, previously enjoyed a relationship with a certain Atomic Kitten star.

We are, of course, talking about Miss Kerry Katona, who dated the actor back following a joint appearance on Celebrity Big Brother back in 2011.
And with the news resurfacing following the launch of the brand new series - which landed on Netflix last week - viewers have been frantically Googling the ins and outs of their unexpected romance, because it turns out, they had a pretty hefty age-gap.
Not that we're judging them for that - in fact, according to one relationship expert, cross-generational romances are all the rave at the mo.
But how big was their gap? Well, first, let's go back to the beginning of their inadvertent love story.
Following the success of his roles in Coronation Street and Waterloo Road, Lucien joined the much-loved reality series, where he was joined by singer Kerry.
Despite their difference in age, the duo grew close while they were locked in the world’s most infamous TV house together.
And after locking lips several times on the show, the made their relationship official on the outside world, with Lucien placing in fifth and Kerry becoming the season’s runner-up behind Paddy Doherty.
They enjoyed several magazine front-cover photoshoots during their brief romance, and even appeared on the cover of OK! Magazine, with a tagline that read: "We hope we’ll be together forever."
In the interview, the couple touched on their age-gap, with Lucien being just 19-years-old when he got together with mother-of-three Kerry, who was 31 at the time.
Claiming he had a ‘thing’ for older women, the actor added: "She’s not too old for me! I like women who know where they’re at.
"It’s so frustrating to hear Kerry talk like that because she’s amazing. When I'm with her, I don’t feel like there’s an age gap at all."
Kerry also opened up about the couple's intimacy.
Recalling their time on the show, she claimed: "There was a lot of sexual tension, definitely. If the cameras hadn’t been there, God knows what would have happened."
Sadly, however, it wasn't meant to be for the couple, and they ended their relationship after just months.
As we say, though, news that Kerry, now 43, and Lucien, now 30, were ever romantically involved has left some internet users absolutely baffled.
"I can’t look at Lucien Laviscount without seeing his Celebrity Big Brother relationship with Kerry Katona," one Emily In Paris viewer penned.
Another went on: "2011??? He was 19 and she was 31…"
"Did not know he went out with Kerry," a third added.
