The name and gender of Lady Gaga’s baby have been revealed after it was announced that the singer welcomed her first child with her fiancé, Michael Polansky.
As reported by PEOPLE Magazine, the 40-year-old musician and American entrepreneur, 42, became a family of three on 9 June.
However, the exciting news only broke last week, when Page Six reported that they’d become parents; at the same time, paparazzi shots emerged of them out and about in Northern California with a newborn baby, who The Mirror reports was welcomed via surrogacy.
Now, more details have been shared by PEOPLE, who obtained documents that revealed the ‘Poker Face’ singer was a girl mom.

The publication also shared that the little one has been named Rose Bean Polansky, with the moniker having a special meaning behind it.
An insider told the publication that her first name, Rose, is inspired by the famous song ‘La Vie En Rose,’ which Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, famously covered in the 2018 film A Star Is Born.

The singer also has a large tattoo on her spine of a rose on a long stem with the words, ‘la vie en rose’ in script next to it.
As reported by Metro, Rose was also the middle name of the star’s late maternal grandmother, Veronica Rose ‘Ronnie’ Ferrie Bissett, who has been an important figure in her granddaughter’s life.
The source added that while it’s not confirmed, the unusual middle name Bean most likely is to honour LGBTQ+ activist Carl Bean, who inspired Lady Gaga’s hit song ‘Born This Way’.
Bean was an Archbishop and former Motown singer who was best known for his 1977 gay liberation anthem I Was Born This Way, which, you guessed it, planted the seeds for Gaga’s own track.
As reported by the BBC, she credited him as her inspiration and said that his song was ‘like a sermon’.
Gaga or her reps are yet to officially confirm the baby's name or gender.
It comes after the star has been keeping a relatively low profile this year, before the baby news was revealed.

In March 2025, she said in an interview with The New York Times that she’s ‘excited to be a mom’ but ‘used to have a lot of apprehension about it’.
The singer explained: “The thing that’s the most important to me is to not force my children to live a life that they are not choosing.
“So the more that we can give them space to discover who they are on their own, that’s the thing that I believe in the most.”
Gaga added: “ If our children only understand Mommy’s job, that’s a very narrow view of life. There’s so much in the world, and I want them to be able to choose for themselves who they want to be.
“I’m also kind of at war with myself sometimes as I get ready to, hopefully, become a mom soon. Like, today is wonderful, but the whole day has revolved around me.
“There’s an incredible amount of narcissism in this. How do I live a life where I’m passionate about my art while also making more space for other things?”
Tyla has contacted a representative for Gaga for comment.
