By now, I'm sure fans know the deal when it comes to Kylie Jenner's extravagant birthday celebrations for her daughter Stormi.

However, it's some are still shocked by the lavish bashes with many rushing to social media to slam the 26-year-old for one particular detail of what her little one's sixth birthday party will be like.

Earlier this week (31 January), The Kardashians star gave fans a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes prep for Stormi's special day on her Instagram Story which included a room filled with colourful balloons.

In one clip, Kylie filmed herself pulling a pretty hefty bag filled with balloons up a staircase with the overlay text on the video reading: "Let the birthday week begin."

It's clearly a busy week for the family because, as well as Stormi's birthday on Thursday (1 February), Kylie's son, Aire, who she shares with her ex, Travis Scott, is turning two today (2 February).

Another clip showed the array of balloons all up in place filling an entire room alongside piles of neatly-wrapped presents placed in the centre.

Despite the heart-warming post, the amount of balloons seemed to rub many fans up the wrong way, with one social media user hitting out: "Do we really need to hear about Stormi's big over the top b'days each year. I'm sure the many struggling parents [...] are rolling their eyes.

"Just have your damn party, stop flaunting the ridiculousness of it all."

Others voiced their concerns with 'plastic pollution'.

Another hit out: "How can you go around messing up the planet every single day with your private jets, endless clothing and accessories that is probably only worn once (clothing is TERRIBLE for the environment), balloons and a constant overly extravagant lifestyle without a single care or concern of the carbon footprint you're leaving on the planet?"

And, a final critic echoed: "Knowing that helium is the only non-renewable and VERY limited element on Earth (despite being super common in space) with only three countries having the most supply, it enrages me how often they waste it for those tacky balloons on any thinkable event.

"Why not put up some paper decorations? Why not use ANYTHING else your rich a** could afford?!"

Tyla has contacted representatives for Kylie Jenner for comment.
