Kylie Jenner’s signature look from a bygone era has made a surprise comeback, and fans of the star simply cannot get enough of its return.

Khy founder and youngest Jenner sister Kylie, 27, has never been afraid of making a statement when it comes to showcasing her personal style.

From honouring late designer Virgil Abloh in a bridal gown at the Met Gala, to matching with her daughter Stormi for the Valentino Haute Couture SS24 show earlier this year, the mum-of-two always has her finger on the pulse.

But long-time fans of Jenner will remember another iconic era of the star’s style evolution - one that inspired a cult-like following while she was dating rapper Tyga.

Cast your mind back to the late 2010s. Tumblr was still the go-to social media platform, the Valencia Instagram filter was thriving and Jenner co-founded her Kylie Cosmetics company with her mother, Kris Jenner.

To coincide with the release of Kylie Cosmetics’ first product Lip Kits, the businesswoman changed her display name on social media to ‘King Kylie’.

The King Kylie moniker was presumably an ode to her then-boyfriend nickname, ‘King Gold Chains’.

The era saw Jenner breaking the mould of having a curated Instagram feed, instead opting for candid images of her sporting wacky, ever-changing hair colours.

Earlier this year, the King Kylie era was brought back into the conversation when the model posted a picture debuting a short, feathery cotton-candy pink hairdo with the caption: “hiiiii remember me.”

And on Thursday (September 5) she nodded to her successful King Kylie era again by posting a series of selfies snapped in her car.

She used the pictures to debut her bold new hairstyle - long, teal locks - alongside the tongue-in-cheek caption: “Teal the end of time”.

Fans and famous faces were quick to flock to the social media carousel, with Jenner superfan and influencer Johnny Cyrus writing: “I missed the blue !!!!!!”

Businesswoman Sydney Lynn Carlson typed: “Oh we are so back”, while another fan said: “KING KYLIE BACK AS SHE SHOULD.”

The star’s sister Khloe Kardashian also wrote: “I’m not falling for this anymore,” while someone else commented: “King Kylie bae.”

Miley Cyrus’ younger sister Noah Cyrus also got in on the action, asking: “Is it THE wig.”

Four years ago, Jenner reflected on how it felt to see her stardom rise in the 2010s.

Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar at the time, she said: “I always knew my family was a big deal, but me, solo, probably around when my [shop] pop-ups started.

“Or when I started dyeing my hair blue and cut my hair off, and then everyone started dyeing their hair blue and cutting it off.

“And I was like, ‘Whoa.’ I realised what an influence I had. I was probably like 16.”
