Kim Cattrall is best known for playing the iconic role of sex-positive PR Samantha Jones in Sex and the City.
But how much does the actress, 69, actually have in common with her sexually adventurous character?
For those who are unfamiliar, Cattrall played the fan-favourite character in every season of the beloved HBO series from 1998 to 2004, alongside Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie Bradshaw), Cynthia Nixon (Miranda Hobbs), and Kristin Davis (Charlotte York).
The hit series, which has been a firm staple among generations of women, follows the lives of four ladies who have differing attitudes towards relationships, sex, marriage, and everything in between.

But despite this, they stick together to navigate the trials and tribulations of being women in their thirties and forties living in New York City.
As we say, Cattrall's character is known for being a confident, sexually liberated woman who doesn't want to be tied down and frequently engages in non-monogamous relationships.

And as for the woman behind Samantha Jones, she explained a few years back that she actually had a 'late-blooming sexuality'.

As per PEOPLE, during a live taping of the New York Times' Modern Love podcast at the Tribeca Film Festival back in June 2023, the actress talked about everything love and relationships.
Cattrall said of dating in her 40s: "I had sort of a late-blooming sexuality. So for me, at that period of time, I was in a relationship where experimentation was readily available, and it was fun."
She also opened up on how sex and intimacy can change with age and what that means.
The star explained: "It's asking for what you want. It's showing what you want. Most men don't have a clue - not the anatomy. They know that. But what in particular works for you.

"And most women, they're too nervous, too anxious, or they haven't done their homework to find out what feels good."
Cattrall continued: "Sexuality is not just about having babies, not just about getting off, it's expressing something in a very intimate way."

The actress has been in a relationship with her partner Russell Thomas for almost ten years after they first met in 2016 at the BBC, when she appeared on an episode of Woman's Hour.

And according to PEOPLE, they recently tied the knot at Chelsea Old Town Hall in an intimate ceremony attended by just 12 guests.
In the 2023 interview, Cattrall touched on how she developed a deep and 'meaningful' relationship with Thomas.
She admitted: "It's hard work. It's not easy. People feel that it's something that happens, and you're lucky. Luck is where preparation meets an opportunity.
"And you meet this person and the work is just begun but it's not a negative kind of work. This is good work. This is meaningful for your life."

The star said: "So, for me, I am less romantic about it or sensual about it. I feel that it is continuing to work and push and progress and ask and reveal for as long as you're alive."
