Kevin Sorbo has sparked outrage after complaining that Hollywood men aren’t ‘manly’.

Despite the box office being dominated by muscle-bound superheroes for the last decade, it’s not good enough for the Hercules actor.

In an editorial for Fox News, he called for the return of male role models, telling readers that America needed ‘warriors’, ‘fathers’ and ‘protectors’. (Insert eye roll here)

The 65-year-old claimed that most movies were ‘anti-men’ – including classic kids’ film The Incredibles.

Despite the animated movie portraying Mr Incredible as a loving husband and doting dad, Sorbo claimed that the film failed to prove a good male role model.

“Elastigirl says 'Leave the saving of the world to the men? I don't think so,'" he penned, adding that strong women dominated cinema.

Continuing, he added: "Everywhere we look, bold, confident, self-assured females upstage passive men who recede quietly into the background. Into the basement. Into the past.”

He went on to state that dads had become the ‘butt of every woke Hollywood jab’, thanks to their screen appearances in recent years.

“[They are] bumbling, useless idiots who contribute nothing to their families or communities,” he argued.

While most would argue Mr Incredible is a pretty great dad who cares for his family and even opts to stay home in the sequel, it didn’t seem to fit the traditional gender roles Sorbo wants to see on the big screen.

Unsurprisingly, the Hercules star went on to hit out at A-listers, including Billy Porter and Timothée Chalamet.

Timothée Chalamet was also under fire in the article.

Despite the two men being arguably some of the most fashion-forward in Hollywood, this didn’t impress the God Isn’t Dead actor – who hit out at their androgynous dress sense.

“GQ’s 2019 best-dressed man, Timothée Chalamet, for example, often wears clothes that, well… let’s just say your grandfather wouldn’t have been caught dead dressed like Chalamet,” he told readers. (Ouch!)

Even macho men like Chris Hemsworth and Henry Cavill didn’t seem to hit the mark with the actor adding: “America today needs warriors; protectors; responsible and committed fathers. We certainly don’t need another MCU-esque superhero.”

As the article ended, he asked for studios to ‘reintroduce’ good men to their films and misquoted Donald Trump as he wrote: “Let’s make Hollywood manly again.”

Well, maybe it’s Sorbo who needs to rethink what he defines as a ‘good man’...
