Kanye West appears to have just changed his name for a second time

It comes after the rapper changed his legal name to 'Ye' back in 2021 - but all is not as it seems

In his latest headline-making move, Kanye West appears to have changed his legal name for a second time.

For the last four years, the 48-year-old rapper has been going by Ye after he filed the papers to do so in a Los Angeles court back in 2021.

He made the decision to completely drop his middle and last name, with his previous name given at birth being Kanye Omari West.

At the time, he wrote on social media: "The being formally known as Kanye West. I am YE."

And now, the disgraced musician has once again, seemingly quietly, tweaked what he wants the world to know him as - but it turns out, it's not all as it seems.

According to The Sun, the updated name was revealed in new business documents which were filed by his chief financial officer Hussain Lalani with the State of California.

The publication reports that in the documents, his name is now listed as ‘Ye Ye’ rather than just ‘Ye’.

Kanye is yet to publicly announce his supposed new name - instead, the change was discovered when his main businesses filed new Statements of Informations, giving up-to-date info on the companies’ details.

His main firm, Ox Paha Inc, has reportedly filed hundreds of trademarks that call him by ‘Ye Ye’ on official documents.

Yeezy Apparel, Yeezy Record Label LLC, and Getting Out Our Dreams Inc, are also said to have done the same.

Social media users have been left confused by why the musician would need to change his name twice in four years.

One wrote: “Make up your mind. This only reinforces people's opinion that something's wrong with you, mentally, can't even decide on a name for yourself.”

Another recapped with a laughing emoji, quipping: “Kanye West has changed his name again. Kanye West > Ye > Ye Ye.”

Meanwhile, a third joked that he couldn’t get his Twitter username back after changing it so took the extreme decision of changing his name.

They wrote: “Bro couldn't get @ye so he changed his name again.”

Another chimed in with: "Ye Ye" sounds stupid asf, just keep it as ye man”.

Someone else reasoned: “If I had to guess, the documents required to state a surname mandatorily and he just put Ye again in that field.”

However, after the social media response, a representative for Kanye has since confirmed that it's not actually the case.

Speaking to Tyla, they confirmed: "There is no Ye Ye. It was an oddity created by an online form that required something in both first name and last name fields."
