Justin Bieber fans are utterly convinced his mum sent a message to Selena Gomez with a cryptic post amid her wedding to Benny Blanco.

As many fans will know, the fandom surrounding the former couple who dated on-and-off from 2010, from the ages of just 16 and 18, until they split for good in March 2018 are a dedicated one indeed.

They're hellbent on 'discovering' what they deem to be hidden remarks, 'explaining' what they reckon are mysterious social media posts and attempting to find deeper meaning in the pair's latest musical lyrics.

So, as expected, fans did exactly that following Selena and Benny Blanco tying the knot over the weekend (27 September) in a stunning Santa Barbara ceremony.

In the hours after the Wizards of Waverly Place actress and Benny exchanged their vows, Justin - who married Hailey Bieber just six months after his final split from Selena - shared a carousel of photos playing basketball at The League court in LA.

However, it was the choice of song he used to soundtrack the post which has got people talking, as the singer selected his own song, 'I Do', a romantic ballad he wrote about his marriage to Hailey, prompting many fans to seriously raise their eyebrows while others hit out over the fandom's bizarre obsession with 'parasocial relationships'.

And that's not all as fans extended their online sleuthing to Justin's own mum too.

Taking to Instagram last week, the 'Baby' singer's mother, Pattie Mallette, shared a series of black and white photos of her son wearing a shirt with the words 'PRAY FOR ME' written on the back.

Along with the eight photos, she included the lengthy caption: "We’re cheering you on and praying for you always Justin.

"I declare freedom, strength, clarity, and healing over you Justin. Every chain of fear, confusion, heaviness, and pain—be broken in Jesus’ name.

"Holy Spirit, surround him with TRUTH, LIGHT, and PROTECTION. HEAL EVERY WOUND in his heart, mind and body, seen and unseen, restore what’s been stolen, and cover him in WHOLENESS."

Patty continued: "Fill him to OVERFLOWING with Your LOVE and COMFORT. Continue to raise him up as a voice for Your Kingdom, unshaken and on fire for You Lord.

"Silence every voice that doesn’t come from You, and let his life be a bold witness of Your power, love, and healing grace."

She concluded the post writing: "Say amen if you agree."

It didn't take long for social media users to point out the timing of the post, speculating that the message could relate to Selena and Benny's wedding - even though the post came quite a few days earlier.

"Nothing, it’s just Selena’s wedding," penned one Instagram user, while a second declared: "His mom knew his feelings to Selena since her wedding is tomorrow."

A third hit out: "It must be a new song called pray for me. He always try to sabotage Selena’s special moments."

"Selena is getting married!!!!!!!" penned another.

And a final Instagram user echoed: "Like u should not have posted this right u know his ex is getting married."
