The decision to debut her 2025 Halloween get-up on the red carpet didn't go down too well for Julia Fox last night (30 Oct), with critics slamming the actress as both 'disrespectful' and 'tasteless'.
The model has previously won fans over with her ghoulish looks, famously dressing as Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas in 2023, opting for a black-and-white striped gown with deep plunging neckline and pelvis cut-outs.
The following year, Fox and her son, Valentino, dressed as characters from Where The Wild Things Are, scoring cute points across the board.
As we say, however, not every onlooker is thrilled by her latest spooky look, after she appeared at The Cursed Amulet’s Halloween party in New York City, wearing the costume of a very famous widow.
Fox attended the soiree as Jackie Kennedy (Santiago Felipe/Getty Images) Donning a pink two-piece double-breasted suit, a matching pillbox hat and heels, the mother-of-one went on to confirm that she'd intended to emulate the outfit Jackie Kennedy wore on 22 November 1963.
That day, her husband - the United States president John F Kennedy - was brutally assassinated in broad daylight, whilst the couple were enjoying a motorcade ride through Dallas, Texas.
In the aftermath, Kennedy was famously photographed standing beside the then-VP, Lyndon B. Johnson - who later took over from her husband - after the grief-stricken woman refused to change.
"They actually had another dress laid out for her to put on and she refused," historian Steve Gillon previously told press. "She went out in her blood-stained suit and stood next to Lyndon Johnson.
"Despite these horrible circumstances, she was willing to stand for a photo because she understood what it meant for the nation to have continuity in government.
The President was assassinated in 1963 (Bettmann) "She understood that she had a role to play in helping the nation transition to a new president."
Like the former first lady - who died in 1994, aged 64 - Fox accessorised her look with white gloves, as well a black handbag.
The Uncut Gems star also sported a dark brunette wig in a bid to mirror her image.
Controversially, however, Fox also included splashes of blood across her pink number, confirming that she based it on the infamous killing.
Somewhat unsurprisingly, the look didn't go down so well with some social media users, after PEOPLE Magazine shared snaps of the red carpet appearance on Instagram.
"This is NOT okay," one onlooker hit out. "Sorry to the Onassis and Kennedy families for having to see and relive this."
Another agreed: "No.. this is horrible. JFK died in a horrific and violent way and Jackie was witness to that… poor taste bad decision."
"This is wildly inappropriate," a third continued. "Everything that’s wrong with this world."
"This is very disrespectful and crass," wrote a fourth.
Another claimed: "I have an extremely dark sense of humour and even I find this horribly tasteless and inappropriate."
