Jessica Chastain is showing support for her former co-star Sophie Turner amidst the messy divorce between her and pop singer, Joe Jonas.
Joe Jonas officially filed for a divorce from Sophie Turner on 1 September 2023, where Jonas released a statement claiming 'the marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken.' The pair were also recently spotted publicly without their wedding rings.
Joe then shared a post on Instagram claiming to be from the two of them, which read: “After four wonderful years of marriage, we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage,
“There are many speculative narratives as to why but truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children.”

But, despite asking for privacy, Joe Jonas seemed to address his and Sophie's split at a Jonas Brothers concert just a few days later.
The divorce has been quite a mess from the start, with an article by People Magazine saying that Sophie only found out about Joe's divorce filing through the media.
Now, Jessica Chastain, who worked with Sophie Turner on the X-Men movie Dark Phoenix back in 2019, has publicly shown her support for Sophie on Twitter.
On Friday 22 September, the X-Men movie star took to Twitter to retweet a post shared by writer and activist, Roxane Gay. Roxane had shared her opinions of the way Joe Jonas was handling the whole divorce, by writing: “The way Joe Jonas miscalculated his popularity with his transparent attempts at PR manipulation, particularly when the North remembers is FASCINATING. And holding the children’s passports to keep them from their mother? Bruh… And the thing is, these are not people I know or follow. I just read the ‘news.’ He has handled this SO badly that now I’m paying attention.”
Jessica retweeted Roxane's post with a caption calling Roxane 'The Oracle'.
During a lawsuit, Sophie explained that the 'breakdown' of the couple's marriage had happened 'very suddenly' following 'an argument' on Joe Jonas' 34th birthday on August 15. The divorce was then filed for by Jonas just three weeks later.
Jessica Chastain isn't the only celebrity who has sided with Sophie Turner, though. Sophie was seen linking arms with pop icon Taylor Swift, who also used to date Joe Jonas.
The pair were seen leaving Hotel Barrière Fouquet’s in New York together - a venue known for its luxurious rooftop restaurant and bar.
