Jennifer Lopez made major request in Ben Affleck divorce that 'speaks a ton'

Jennifer Lopez made a major request in her divorce from Ben Affleck, who the star was married to for two years.

Last Wednesday (21 August), it was confirmed that J.Lo, 55, had filed for divorce from Affleck following months of speculation over their marriage.

Back in July, a source told the Daily Mail that Lopez and Affleck - who'd previously dated back in the early Noughties - had 'finalised the divorce papers' but were 'waiting for the right time to drop them'.

"At that time, they will release a joint statement that will say how they have much love for each other and how they fought to make it work, but couldn’t," they said.

As per court documents obtained on Wednesday by the BBC, J.Lo filed for divorce on 20 August in the Los Angeles County Superior Court.

Neither Lopez or Affleck have publicly commented on their split.

Fans of the couple have been left gutted, but also curious as to the details surrounding their split and impending divorce.

And now, a new detail has emerged regarding one major request that Lopez has asked for following the split.

According to USA Today - who have reviewed the musician's divorce filing - she has filed an official request to revert back to her maiden name.

If granted, she'll henceforth be known - once again - as 'Jennifer Lynn Lopez'.

According to a legal source speaking to People, the filing 'speaks a ton'.

Lopez and Affleck tied the knot back in 2022 having first dated in the early Noughties.

After almost two decades apart, having first gone their separate ways in 2004, the pair reunited - and fans were delighted for them.

While musician Lopez has been married three times - including to her long-time pal Marc Anthony, with whom she welcomed twins - Affleck previously wed Jennifer Garner, with the couple sharing three children of their own.

But it seems the couple's reunion wasn't meant to be.

Earlier this year, mother-of-two Jennifer was seen holidaying separately from her hubby, and opted not to wear her wedding ring on 4th of July weekend, which she also spent alone.

Meanwhile, fans noticed that the couple had reportedly put their 12-bedroom, 24-bathroom California mansion on the market for $68,000,000.

If that didn't fuel rumours even further, in June, fans noticed that Affleck wasn't in attendance for the premiere of his wife's Netflix movie Atlas in Mexico.
