World-renowned musician Halsey has revealed she's 'lucky to be alive' after announcing a devastating health diagnosis on social media.

Along with a series of videos - several of which saw the star receiving infusions whilst breaking down in tears - she lifted the lid on her recent ailments.

"Long story short, i’m Lucky to be alive," she penned in the caption. "short story long, i wrote an album. it begins with The End. out now."

Despite the singer - real name Ashley Nicolette Frangipane - not yet having disclosed the full nature of her diagnosis, she tagged both The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Lupus Research Alliance in her post (which contains some strong language).

In one of the heartbreaking videos - for which she has received mass support from her 31.3 million followers - Halsey can be heard telling viewers: "I feel like an old lady."

Rubbing her legs in pain, she continued: "I told myself I'm giving myself two more years to be sick.

"At 30, I'm having a rebirth and I'm not gonna be sick and I'm gonna look super hot and have lots of energy and I'm just gonna get to re-do my 20s in my 30s."

In the subsequent video, the New Jersey-born star could be seen hooked up to a machine whilst in hospital, where she filmed a selfie clip, telling her fans that she was currently enduring 'day one of treatment'.

A third clip also saw her enjoying some much-needed time in a recording studio as she recorded her new single whilst strumming a guitar.

Another, more harrowing addition to the photo collection saw her sending a friend a notes page link titled 'the f*****g end of the world' via text.

Naturally, thousands of messages from both celebrity pals and devoted fans came flooding in, showing the singer their support.

Fellow singer Rita Ora wrote in the comments: "I hope your ok beautiful lady."

Supermodel Heidi Klum also penned: "Sending you love, strength and healing."

"Long story short, thank you for sharing your voice and vulnerability with the world. Short story long, we are here for you always @iamhalsey," The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society posted.
