The fan who supposedly had a 'rude' interaction with Hailey Bieber has spoken out in defence of the star, as she revealed the viral clip of the moment was taken completely out of context.

The video amassed 7.6 million views on TikTok as viewers rushed to criticise Hailey's alleged behaviour towards the fan.

In the short video, the 28-year-old model can be seen posing for a picture with a woman and is heard saying: "I don’t like it when people put their hands on me."

The interaction was branded 'rude' by many social media users, but others suggested that the star setting boundaries was completely fine.

But it turns out that neither of the two things needed to be concluded, as it's not how the interaction played out at all.

The fan involved, Kristal Terrell, has now spoken out on her own TikTok page about what really happened.

Kristal shared an unedited account of the moment she rushed over to Hailey and the two embraced each other.

But a male security guard stopped her in her tracks and attempted to push Kristal away from the Rhode founder.

Hailey could be heard telling the man 'It’s fine', before adding: "You should not put your hands on anyone."

As she posed for a photo with Kristal, Hailey reinforced her point as she said: "I don’t like when people put their hands on people."

This was the part taken out of context.

In the longer version, Kristal could be heard responding: "I appreciate that because that was a little scary."

Thankfully, this clip went even more viral than the shorter one, and many thanked Kristal for clearing up the altercation as a result of the backlash Hailey had received.

Kristal added: "She would have [the] right to set boundaries because we do not personally know each other but that isn’t what happened."

Fans took to the comments to discuss how everything had been taken so wildly out of context.

One said: "Crazy, now you wonder what other clips on the news/TikTok are taken out of context."

Another said: "The way someone purposely cut the video to make it look like something it wasn’t is so cruel."

A third added: "I really admire Hailey because internet have a hate campaign to discredit her SO strongly, they are always taking every word she says out of context. It must be so exhaustive for her mind and heart."
