We're all very excited to tune into this year's Golden Globes which is set to air this week on Sunday (5 January).

Each year, the prestigious awards ceremony seems to be packed full to the brim with celebrity blunders, moving speeches and some pretty awkward moments.

One of which was none other than Emma Stone's 'a**hole' Taylor Swift joke during last year's Golden Globes which clearly didn’t go down well with some die-hard Swifties while others found it beyond iconic.

Now, both Taylor and Emma were nominated for awards - the former for her Taylor Swift: The Eras concert film in a new category honouring the year’s films for cinematic and box office achievement, and the latter for her performance in Poor Things.

The 35-year-old singer unfortunately didn't secure a win, however, the La La Land actor, 36, bagged the award for Actress in a Musical or Comedy Motion Picture but not before being asked a question about her pal Taylor.

After winning her Golden Globe and finishing off her acceptance speech, Emma was asked how she felt about Taylor 'cheering' her win.

One clip from the event saw Emma jokingly respond: "What an a**hole, am I right?"

After taking a step back from the mic momentarily, she later went back over to the podium and assured viewers she's known Taylor for 'almost 20 years' and was 'very happy' she was there at the awards ceremony with her.

"She was also nominated tonight which was wonderful and... Yes, what an a**hole," Emma finished up by saying.

Fans clearly couldn't wait to share their reactions to Emma's response with one X user praising: "I love their friendship so much."

As a second echoed: "The only friendship that matters."

"MAKE HER HOST IM BEGGING," begged a third, while a fourth added: "I love seeing women supporting women, friends supporting friends and people supporting people but why not ask Emma about the work she does instead? Since that’s what she got an award for?"

A fair point indeed.

Others, however, clearly didn't see the funny side to the situation with one person hitting out: "Hilarious...Jk. Meh."

"Guess Emma can’t take a joke either," wrote a second.

A third and final Twitter weighed in, asking: "That’s a joke?"

Elsewhere during last year's ceremony, Taylor seemed pretty unimpressed after host Jo Koy called her out on stage.

In one clip from the evening, Jo can be heard saying: "We came on after a football doubleheader. The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL… On the Golden Globes we have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift."

"Sorry about that," he added shortly after.

The camera then panned to Taylor looking for from amused as she sipped her drink.
