Ferne McCann hits back after she's slammed over dangerous feature in baby's nursery

She's been criticised for this danger in her daughter's new room.

Ferne McCann has reacted to the criticism she's received online after sharing a tour of her daughter Finty's nursery.

The TOWIE star, who gave birth to her daughter in July, shared a video on Instagram this week showing off her little girl's bedroom, which is stylishly decorated in neutral tones and minimalist decor.

However, the video has come under criticism, as her followers had an issue with the sleep set-up she has chosen for Finty.

Ferne's nursery tour was met with criticism over the decor and 'dangers' of her newborn's cot.

Many eagle-eyed Instagram followers spotted blankets, cushions and a pile of pillows in the bed, which they immediately flagged as concerning in the comments.

One wrote: "Take the pillows out the cot!!"

Another added: "Looks gorgeous but please take pillows out when your special little person is in the cot."

"Please take pillows out cot," warned a third.

And a fourth said: "Love the room but seeing the pillows in the cot is giving me anxiety."

The Lullaby Trust advise that for babies being put in cots, they should be in a space that's empty of pillows, bedding or toys.

Their website states: "The safest cot for a baby is a clear cot. That means removing anything that isn’t essential.

"Babies need just two items in their cot: (1) a firm, flat, waterproof mattress; (2) lightweight bedding."

But it wasn't just the bed that some viewers had a problem with, as they also ripped into the neutral colour palette.

One viewer wrote: "Looks like it’s not been painted! Thought it was going to be a before and after video at first."

Followers warned her of the dangers of the pillows and toys in baby Finty's cot.

While another commented: "Beautiful room but I don't like the boring bland colours. Babies need colour."

Responding to the criticism via her Instagram Story, the mum-of-two said: "I cannot believe how much of a stink Finty's nursery has caused on social media. It is mental.

"Don't get me wrong I am here for other peoples opinions and I know that I am not going to please everyone and it is fine for us not to love everything.

"That's fine, I get it, for goodness sake I have got a reality show. I get the odd troll.

"But on a neutral nursery it has honestly blown my mind this time round. I have been reading some of the comments, it's nuts.

"And yes for everyone concerned, the pillows in the cot, I mean she is not going to go into her cot until she is six months old but I will remove them. But yes I can't believe it, neutral tones send people crazy."

Ferne hit back at the criticism on her Instagram Stories.

This also isn't the first time that Ferne has faced criticism as she was hit with negative comments after revealing the tot's unique name.

Speaking on Instagram, she said that she couldn't have chosen a 'bog-standard' name and knew that it would divide opinion.

"The name, I knew it was going to split some hairs, but I just think if you go for a popular name, an unusual name, whatever name you go for, there is always going to be a few people that won't like it. That's the way it is." she said.
