Dylan Sprouse and Barbara Palvin share baby name as sweet meaning revealed
Dylan Sprouse and his wife Barbara Palvin have revealed the name of their baby after welcoming her to the world earlier this month.
Speaking a day after the Suite Life of Zack & Cody star and the Victoria's Secret model announced that they had welcomed their first child together (28 September), Sprouse shared that the moniker they opted for was Sylvie.
Nameberry, the world's largest online database, community, and resource dedicated to baby names, explains: "Although Sylvia seems to be having somewhat of a revival among trendsetting baby namers, we'd still opt for the even gentler and more unusual Sylvie.
"Despite being dated in its native France (where it was popular during the 1950s and 60s), in English-speaking regions it still feels fresh and international without being unfamiliar and has a cosmopolitan, international air. It debuted on the US Top 1000 in 2016."

As of September 2026, Sylvie ranked #282 in US births in 2025 SSA and #50 in Nameberry popularity, according to the site.
"There's moments when I look at Sylvie, and I'm like, 'This is the coolest thing ever,'" Sprouse said on the most recent episode of his and Brendan Columbus' Wildmen podcast yesterday (29 September).
"She's looking at me, and her eyes are opening. She's got a small wake window during the day, and she's looking at me, and she smiles or something, and it's the cutest thing."
The new father continued: "Ninety per cent of the time right now, it's like having a baby pet monkey.
"It is having a pet monkey because she is chirping and making noises and pooping and farting and burping and hiccuping. It's like having a really poopy little animal."
Sprouse also gushed over how excited he was at the prospect of being a 'girl dad'.
"I got to tell you, I did not expect to like this as much as I do, dressing her up in little fits, dude," he beamed. "She's so cute. And I'm not sure that I would think like that if I had a baby boy. You'd be thinking differently. You'd be like, 'Ah man, a little pooper.'"
"I'm looking at baby Sylvie, and I'm like, 'That's the cutest little thing I've ever seen in my life,'" he beamed. "I got this bonnet for her. Dude, I love it. It was so cute."
The 34-year-old, who tied the knot with 32-year-old Palvin back in 2023, carried on: "It feels really cool to see her learning so actively every day about everything, understanding feeding time and nap time.
"I watch the Dodgers with her like every day. I can almost see her recognise it's time to sit on the nursing chair with me."
And it seems like Sylvie is following in the footsteps of her dad already.
"I will say that she stretches a lot. It's really funny. No matter what she's doing. I was like, 'That's weird cuz I do that ****,'" Sprouse said. "I'm calling it now, I think she might be a little lazy like me. I think she's a lazybones."
"I'm already starting to see it because when she's feeding—and this happens with a lot of babies—she'll drink and then pass out," he continued. "It's the funniest ****."
