Following the tragic passing of Diane Keaton this weekend, the actress' long-time gal-pal Goldie Hawn has issued a gut-wrenching tribute.
Keaton died in California on Saturday (11 October) at the age of 79, with her family later issuing a plea for privacy in the coming weeks.
"There are no further details available at this time, and her family has asked for privacy in this moment of great sadness," a statement given to PEOPLE Magazine by her loved ones read.
In the days since her passing, countless stars have recounted their experience being both friends and colleagues with Keaton, including Bette Midler who credited the First Wives Club as 'limitlessly creative…in her acting, her wardrobe, her books, her friends, her homes, her library, her world view. Unique is what she was'.

She went on to jibe: "And, though she didn’t know it or wouldn’t admit it, man she was a fine actress!"

Leonardo DiCaprio also penned a gushy statement: "Diane Keaton was one of a kind. Brilliant, funny, and unapologetically herself. A legend, an icon, and a truly kind human being."
Reese Witherspoon shared a similar statement, describing the Los Angeles movie-star as 'one of my first mentors in this business'.

The Legally Blonde actress continued: "But the thing I just loved about her is she was such an original. If you just close your mind and think of Diane Keaton ... she is just incredible and indelible."
As we say, however, another firm friend of Keaton, her former First Wives Club co-star Goldie Hawn, has also spoken out, sharing in a tear-jerking post that she wasn't 'ready' to lose the mother-of-two.
Taking to Instagram, the 79-year-old reflected on her close relationship with Keaton, revealing that the pair had once conjured up a plan to always be in one another's lives.
“We agreed to grow old together, and one day, maybe live together with all our girlfriends,” Goldie wrote in her post.

"Well, we never got to live together, but we did grow older together. Who knows… maybe in the next life," Hawn gushed.
The Death Becomes Her bombshell went on to praise Keaton's ability to steal 'the hearts of millions', recalling of their time working together: "Our days starting with coffee in the makeup trailer, laughing and joking, right through to the very last day of filming. It was a roller coaster of love."
She continued: "You’ve left us with a trail of fairy dust, filled with particles of light and memories beyond imagination.

"How do we say goodbye? What words can come to mind when your heart is broken? You never liked praise, so humble, but now you can’t tell me to 'Shut up', honey. There was, and will be, no one like you."
